This Dr. Saved my life! Treated me like I was family!

I have to say, with all the doctor's and nurses I have encountered, in my lifetime, that the Lake Wales Family Medical Center is the very best! Doctor Torres really cares about his patients, and his staff is just amazing. I have moved over 25 miles from Lake Wales, but continue to keep Dr. Torres as my physician.

I recently visited this Family Medical Center and met one of the rudest nurses I have ever met in my life. When we set up the appointment at this clinic, we were told that they wanted to set our appointment up for the following week since they were going to get my records from another Winter Haven Hospital clinic prior to my appointment. This apparently did not happen. While I was there, the nurse acted like I was such an inconvenience for her. From her huffing and puffing about how I should have gotten my medical records to the nastiness in her tone when she asked her screening questions, I quickly figured out that this was the wrong establishment for me to be seeking medical treatment. I informed her that she was one of the rudest people I had ever met and that I was leaving. I called back to the office to ask that the desk let Dr. Torres know that I was sorry for wasting his time but I was not going to tolerate being treated rudely by this nurse. The lady on the phone did not offer any apology or attempt to resolve the issue. At this point, I informed her I would be filing a complaint with Winter Haven Hospital in hopes that they will reeducate this nurse as to what patient service actually is. The Doctor could have been one of the best in the industry but I will never know. When I look at the fact that I was told one thing about my records, then treated like an inconvenience because they didn't have them, clearly this indicates that this office doesn't know what it is doing. When you couple that with the lack of customer service skills, I have to wonder what these people are doing in the healthcare industry. I am glad there are other options out there for healthcare and I would strongly recommend that you pursue those options before coming to Lake Wales Family Medical Center on 201 State Road 60 W, Lake Wales, FL 33853.

I have referred many people to him and they all think he's great. He'interested in his patients, very smart and up to date and follows up after your visit to see how you're doing.

Dr. Torres is very caring and knowledgable. He explains everything fully, and on several occasions he has followed up with a personal phone call the day after a visit. I have always received appointments quickly for acute issues. He's the most accessible, personable, and understandable doctor I've had. Highly recommended.

Dr. Torres has one of the best bedside manners of any Dr. I have ever met. He spends a lot of time with you and really listens.
