List of Jose Prieto's Reviews
He treated me with respect and was attentive.
does not return calls well. staff doesn't always get orders right. not very happy right now.
I had to get a new pcp because of a change of insurance, I was assigned dr. Prieto. He came in the room without much expression or personality. Okay, I can live with that if otherwise he's a good doctor. I show him a rash on my arm and he says "I'll prescribe a cream". Then I show him my ankle that I had injured years ago, it's really hurting now, "okay, we'll do an xray". He asked if I had my pneumonia vaccine, I hadn't so he said he'd send the nurse in to administer the vac. He leaves, she comes in and gave me my vac. She says goodbye and I go to checkout. There the receptionist hands me a paper with my upcoming appointments, I thought that was strange because every other dr office ask what day and time are good for me. I take a quick look at the appointments and he has me down for a EKG which I thought was odd since he had just listened to my heart and said it sounded good. I went home and called the office and told the girl I think it was a mistake that I was supposed to be having a xray on my ankle and she said "no, he wants you to have an EKG and you were supposed to have the xray while I was there 🤨, duh! I said he didn't tell me that! They scheduled me a bone density test for the following week so I had the xray done then. So now I'm waiting for a text from publix telling me I have a prescription ready, a couple of days go by and no script so I have to call the dr. and leave a message. Finally a day or two later I get the text, the script was $40 after running it through my insurance, nope not happening, I called the office and left a message for something free or at least cheaper. Days go by, nothing.......I call again and left another message.........nothing. So now I'm really mad, I canceled all my appointments and called my insurance for a provider list so I can find a new dr. The first and only visit to this office was 12/18/20 Here's the best part, I got a text from publix today saying that I have a prescription ready (out of the blue) and it is now 1/14/2021
The receptionist here at this place can't even do there job right , apparently they don't even check what patients they have waiting in the waiting room. No list to sign in, just in case they have walk-ins. Apparently they only take appointments, but they decided to let my mother know hours later after she's been waiting that they can't attend to her. Great communication between you are your colleagues Grace.
In my time I have been to several practices, both personal and for my disabled cousin. Dr prietos front desk personnel are the worst at customer service, they take a real long time to process patients effectively and the in a timely manner. I am not sure if we it is their way of doing business or just way understaffed? At any rate; when you are given a time for an appointment it should not take 2 and even 3 hours to see the doctor!!! If my observation is not correct?... then there is something wrong with the system that allows for this to happen! p.s. We are changing health provider.
after 5 yrs. not so good
Visited Dr. Prieto last spring as we needed to establish a primary physician here in Florida since moving here from NY. Found him to be very knowledgeable, thorough and personable. Went to his office just last week, saw his Nurse practioner, as he was out of the office, and was and found her to be as competent as Dr. Prieto. Definitely recommend this office if you are in need of a primary care physician.
Called for about 40 mins ! They didn't answer but when they did she was really nice on the phone and apologized. Reason why they take forever to answer it's because they only have 3 lines and insurances and other callers call in and at the same time they have to take care of patients ! I was irritated at first but after she explained the reason why I understood. So i hope this helps for all of you that get no answers !
So this doctors office is suppose to open at 10am but of course they are always late. Ive been calling since 10:06am and it is now 11:17 am and they have not answered any of my 19 calls except for once they picked up the phone and after a few seconds hung up. These girls at the front desk lack basic customer service skills and should not be working here. My mother in law broke her knee cap and unfortunately has to be seen by her primary doctor to get referred to an orthopedic but these lazy girls are not doing their job. Just like a previous reviewer I would post negative stars if it was an option
I swear these receptionists are the laziest bitches ever. I can't believe my pharmacy called for a verification of a prescription and they kept pharmacy on hold for like 10 mins then hung up so when the pharmacy called back the office was closed for the day. Also, last week I called to make another Saturday appt and the girl tells me they don't verify insurance on Saturdays I'm like it's not my first appt. you have verified my insurance ahead of time and she has the nerve to say I don't now if they are going to want to do that. Wtf you mean want?? Bitch that is your mutha fucking job. Ugh so annoyed with this place. As soon as I'm done with my treat I'm switching drs. I feel bad because the se is a very good se but the front office is just a shame.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
