Maresa Lugo's Online Review Report Card

Dr Maresa Lugo was more interested in her CELL Phone than any of my problems . She stopped my new patient exam to answer a text on her cell phone . She did this 2 times . Dr Lugo has a cell phone holder on her desk to hold the phone . She makes sure that she can see the phone at a glance . I left with NO answers at all . She did order a brain MRI that I MUST make sure that I bring her a copy on C.D. myself when I come back . At my return visit in 3 months . If Dr. Lugo is One Bay Care's best . They need to check there standers . She is very unprofessional with cell phone use . She wasted My Time and Ins. dollars.

The best neurologist in polk county! She identified my wife’s issue at her first visit. The doctor and her staff worked fast and efficiently to get specialty meds/additional testing approved with the insurance. We recommend her 100%!!!

I really thought twice about going to her again, this time fir my mother. I took her for her appointment today and then at the end we asked her one last question regarding her headaches and she said that would have to be addressed at her next appointment! I mean are you joking! She said she had her next patient waiting, so no she wasn’t joking . A great way to milk the system . NEVER AGAIN

I was referred to Dr. Lugo for leg pain. On my first visit with her, SHE ordered bloodwork. When the bloodwork came through on my patient portal I saw that there were red flags. I contacted Dr. Lugo's office on a Thursday and was told that she was out until Monday. I contacted her office on Monday and was told she would be out for another week. I asked if she had someone who could look at my bloodwork (I was scheduled to have surgery that week on a different issue). The secretary told me that no one was available to look at it. I brought my bloodwork to my surgeon and my surgery was cancelled; I was sent to a blood specialist because of what was on the bloodwork Dr. Lugo ordered. 5 weeks later she has still not contacted me!!! I contacted her office again and was told that she had been on vacation for 3 weeks and that the secretary had been on vacation for a week. I would call this negligence or patient abandonment.

I called Dr. Lugo's office and was told she was on vacation and that they were unable to help me. I called 5 times in 2 days to let them know that something was on the labs and I wanted someone to look at it because I was scheduled to have surgery for a different issue and wanted to make sure it was ok. The secretary told me I should just have the surgeon look at the labs; I told her that Dr. Lugo was the one that ordered the bloodwork. I brought my labs to my surgeon. He cancelled my surgery and I was sent to a blood specialist the next day because of what was on the labs. 5 weeks later and I had still not heard from Dr. Lugo's office. I contacted them again to discuss why I had not heard from them. I was told that the Dr. had been out for 3 weeks and that the secretary had been out for a week. I was further told that it was not their policy to have coverage. I would consider this negligence and/or patient abandonment!!!
