If there is a Ten Star Option I would give a 10! Dr Baumgartner is the best neurosurgeon - right after the surgery my son became seizure free ever since. My 11 year old child had Infantile Spasms at one year old and later transformed to LGS. We tried everything we could try to save his life and control his seizure with hope he could get better but later we accepted the fact as it is. He still enjoys certain level of life quality, eat, walk, play toys, non-verbal and cry for what he needs…but have at least one seizure everyday which make him dizzy and sleepy most part of day. When we went to his new neurologist Dr Lee last year, he strongly suggested for Corpus Callosotomy brain surgery. I was very hesitate because it is a brain surgery and anything bad can happen, I was so afraid I will get a worse result and lose what my child have left right now. We eventually made the decision and scheduled surgery with Dr Baumgartner- such a brilliant neurosurgeon. The two doctors' office are in the same building. The surgery only took a couple of hours and there is no side effects or complications. To Dr Baumgartner it is such a easy surgery and I guess he probably does these kind of surgery everyday. The surgery was performed at the end of 2021, and my child because seizure ever since. The result is even much better than Dr’s expectation. Now Lucas is much more active and alert, and much better at communication and interactive with us. It is a magic!
My daughter has seen Dr. Baumgartner and his PA Amy since 2015 when she had her decompression surgery. since then for shunt placement and revisions. We have had numerous second third fourth opinions and can’t see her seeing any other Neurosurgeon but Baumgartner. He listens to her and always tells her that she knows her body best. Every time she has gone to the hospital saying something doesn’t feel right, She has either had to have her shunt replaced or adjusted. He listens to her and so does his PA Amy. We wouldn’t trust her brain with anyone else and we are so very very thankful that we found the both of them!

Horrible follow up when the surgery he claimed would cure my husband’s epilepsy failed. He and his sidekick are arrogant and went dark when they realized the surgery made my husband worse
Worst Doctor ever
My oldest son is 21 years old, a senior in college (dean's list), bilingual, a human rights activist, and just all around kind, brilliant young man. In great measure, we owe this to Dr. Baumgartner. He truly listens to parents, has empathy and compassion, and is a brilliant neurosurgeon. It was a difficult decision for us to move to CA from Houston (where he used to work). We've had 2 neurosurgeons since then, but Dr. Baumgartner shines above them, thanks to his compassionate and respectful bedside manners.
He performed brain surgery on my daughter to remove a brain tumor in the cerebellum, when she was 7yrs old, in 1999. His office was in houston at that time. He was an excellent Dr. My daughter is alive and thriving today because of him. Thank you Dr Baumgartner!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
