List of Carlos Ruiz's Reviews
Our daughter was hospitalized due to depression and Dr. Ruiz was the doctor on call. It was a terrible few days for our family but Dr. Ruiz put us at ease right away. My daughter has seen 3 other psychiatrists in the past and this was the first time she connected with one. He was kind and compassionate but he was also direct and spoke to her with respect. His sense of humor was also a great welcome. We were so impressed that my daughter decided to switch to his practice (One Med) full-time and now sees him regularly, in conjuncture with one of the therapists in his practice (Jenna) who is also great. Independent of all this, I learned the Dr. Ruiz is the Psychiatry Medical Director of an in-patient program that came highly recommended to me. All in all, our family is grateful for his care.
I had the most awful experience with Dr. Ruiz. He refused to answer any questions/concerns while hospitalized at Florida Hospital (now Advent Health). His excuse was that he couldn't sit down; he was still growing. At his 2nd visit, I told him to sit down because he was already grown. He wasn't happy. There was an incident while I was left alone with no visitors. I calmly claimed that there was a maintenance problem with the bathroom, the hot water faucet was not working properly and the shower floor was slippery. Also, the equipment to take the vitals was not working properly. Readings will show different results every time. Dr. Ruiz created a unique situation where I was under 24-hr surveillance and while every other doctor released me, he didn't. He tricked my husband and I saying that I was to be moved to a different floor. He had doped me to take me to Outpatient Care. I was released by the doctor in charge. He said that there wasn't any reason why to be there.

I was married for 28 yrs to an oncology pharmacist, have one daughter whom graduated from UFL with honors and this doctor has turned my life upside down based on a 5 minute video call
Specific reasons are I believe 1.THERE IS SOMETHING MISSING EMOTIONALLY WITH THIS PSYCHIATRIST. 2. Does NOT WANT TO COMMUNICATE REGARDING TRAUMA. 3. This Dr appears only to be a pharma ( medicine ONLY TREATMENT results ) no CBT zero . Would not communicate with FAMILY OR EVEN PARENT WHO WAS THE LEGAL GUARDIAN AND POA for psychotic son! None addressed at all over a very long period of treatment.a complete waste of hundreds of thousands of dollars !a wasted opportunity. Left hopeless and sad.
Very very rude...worst medical experience we've ever had!! So much for trying to help people!! Stay away from this man
This guy is a complete idiot. Inpatient he was given a shot every day and twice the amount of medication that he sent his patient home with. This was to in sure that she would end up back in the hospital again. How do these people get a license to practice psychiatry. They need to be shot up with every

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
