List of Hugh Morris's Reviews
Dr. Morris listens and lets me ask any and all questions and will take the time to answer them. He is a wonderful Dr.
I was seeing Dr. Morris for a total hip redo and the first thing he says is you have to lose 30 lbs before he'd do it and he says i know your not mobile so get with a dietitian or nutritionist. He has zero empathy and I don't believe he really cares.
Please think twice before going to see Dr. Morris. He is very rude and dismissive and if you God forbid try to slow him down or ask questions, he gets even ruder and told me to deal with the pain there's nothing else to do for you when in fact there are about 5 other treatments that can be done ranging from Yoga/physical therapy to surgery. I haven't seen any other Doctors from Jewett, but try one of them and do not go to Dr. Morris! This is all after waiting 1 1/2 HOURS past my appointment time
He didn't take the time to check my knee properly. Left without saying bye and I think he is racist.
It was horrible exprience.. He didnt take the time with me. He told me ice and told me not take any medications for the pain and spent less then 15 minutes with me. I still left in pain and unsatifisty. I will never go back to Jewett Orthopedic. I will not send my friends or family there. Not worth one star!
I can't say enough about Dr Morris He was so professional . Was a perfectionist at best . Made sure everything was done right. I had a hip replacement. And I was back at work in 6 weeks as a server. I was amazed. Just follow his instruction and he got me back on my feet in no time. I At the hospital he came everyday like clockwork to make sure everything was good. I was very pleased with this doctor. The nurses spoke so highly of him which is a good sign . Made me feel comfortable that I choose him.Would go back to him If I ever need more surgery.I recommended him numerous time . Cant say enough how good he is. Thanks!!!!!!
by Sue on May 7th, 2015 I have been going to Jewett Ortho Clinic for 38 years. I played sports for 35 years and had many ortho problems. I've had both shoulders operated on by Dr. Brian Bernard, wonderful Physician! Back surgery by Dr. Munson, again a wonderful experience. Very successful knee surgery by Dr. Krumins. Very complicated wrist surgery by Dr. Fenichel, that was very successful and he was a most concerned Doctor. My recent appointment with Dr. Morris was shocking! I went because of hip and groin pain. He entered the room in a hurry, asked me two questions, I hardly got the words out of my mouth, and he said you need Xray. I had the Xray and then returned to the room. My daughter had come with me, because we have hereditary hip problems in our family. She and her son have had hip surgery. Dr. Morris came back in the room, he looked at the Xray and said you have bursitis. My daughter tried to address the possibility of the inherited hip issue, and he cut her right off. Looked at me and said, do you want a shot of cortisone? I tried to ask a question and he said do you want a shot or not. I said yes. He left the room and came back, gave me the shot, told me to ice my hip every day. Then he started out the door, I asked if I needed a follow up appt. and he said no, I don't need to see you any more. My daughter and I sat there in total shock. Not only was he rude, I had a couple more questions I wanted to ask. When I left there I felt fine, and drove home. An hour later I went for my yearly checkup at the Dermatologist. When I got out of the car, I could not move my left leg. It felt like it was totally asleep. Like when you get Novocain at the dentists office. It was scary. I got out of the car and had to drag my left leg, and I had a hard time pulling my left leg up the step to the curb. I hobbled in to the office holding on to trees and walls. When I got in there, I told the nurse and she said the numbing shot that Dr. Morris gave me before the cortisone injection, must have drained down into my leg, ankle and foot. I was there about an 1 1/2 hours and when I left I needed help to get to the car. I drove home, thank goodness it was not my driving leg. I did not get the feeling back for a couple of hours after I got home. Why wasn't I warned of this side effect? I would never have driven to my other appt., if I had known that was a possibility. Since that time my groin pain is as bad as it was when I went to Dr. Morris. He never addressed the groin pain and I never got to ask a question about it. I now have an appt. with another hip Dr. & I will never recommend Dr. Morris to anyone.
I had two total knee replacements performed; one with Dr. Morris, and the second, minimally invasively with Dr. Nyugen. Dr. Morris is skilled at what he does, but he doesn't offer minimally invasive. And when that issue was discussed, he frowned on it. Not justified, as my second knee is much better than the 'Morris' knee; the latter doesn't feel like it's been fit correctly and it doesn't line up properly. The Nyugen knee is far more nimble and natural, and a better fit hands down. Even if the two were equal, recovery time was rapid with the latter. I was walking and making lunch 2 days post-op; with the first knee, still in a walker 2 weeks. I would advise anyone to look into minimally invasive as an option.
I have had a complete knee and complete hip replacement done by Dr. Hugh Morris and I could not be happier with my results. Dr. Morris is highly professional and has done thousands of these procedures. He visited me in the hospital every day after my procedures personally. He did not have an associate come to see me because he was very concerned with my recovery. Regardless of what other people might think of Dr. Morris I highly recommend him if you want someone who is totally concerned about his patients and there well being.
Really good, knowledgeable, beyond happy with my choice for him as my doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
