This doctor runes my life. Then told me to take Xanax and not ruin his reputation. I can no longer work because he wouldn’t listen to me. Please, please go elsewhere
Dr. Mercer performed surgery on me about 10 years ago. I had bad incontinence after vaginally delivering 2 large babies. I could barely walk without peeing myself quite frankly. I had a hysterectomy and vaginal repair(not with Dr. Mercer) but that didn't help. I saw a physiotherapist that specialize in this as well as used vaginal weights and keegle exercises . This only help very minimally. Dr. Mercer did a bladder sling with another vaginal repair. I have been free of incontinence since the operation . I run 4-6 six miles on a regular basis and still free of incontinence. I thank Dr. Mercer for this procedure that really gave me my quality of life back.
I had been having pelvic pain for 3 plus years. He saw me for 20mins and knew exactly what was wrong. After surgery he was so attentive and reassuring. I called him twice at 8pm and 11pm at night and he was very concerned and understanding. He is AMAZING. Not sure about some of the negative feedback but i always had a great experience.
I knew that it was a matter of time for him to stop practicing. I never consider him a good doctor and hi staff was extremetly unprofessional. He thinks that by stopping practice he is been clever, Not.
Hi, Dr. Mercer used to be my GYNO but he moved to Florida. Since then I have no been able to find a gyno who is nearly as attentive, as experienced and astute about a woman's body. I am about to get on a flippin plane to come down to see him so my problem I still have can get fixed after two appts with another doctor now. Doctors run late because of idiots who are late all the time. But he generally ran on time. I MISS YOU DR. MERCER! Damn the State of IL for being one of the worst states for Gyno's & doctors in general!
Dr. Mercer does not pay close attention to patient's concerns. Gives diagnosis on assuptions instead of lab work. Dr. Mercer becomes very condencedent when you ask the right questions. Most of his staff (all women) are very unprofessional, rude and liers.
Dr. Mercer took the time to explain my incontinence issues to me. I had gone to a urologist who clearly had no understanding of women. Anyway - without surgery - I am on the path to improving. Helpful staff too. Essie (nurse) and Dr. Mercer were great!
THE WORST GYNO I have seen. spent 2 hours in my appointment only to get a pap smear. He diagnosis medication to patients, even when he can't identify the issue that NEEDS TO BE TREATED. Does not listen to your concerns, and talks down to you when you ask him questions. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. Dont waste your time with this doctor. I honestly think his nurses or family friends wrote the positive comments and high scores below. I had the worst experience with this doctor. THE WORST.
best gyno ever!!! great bedside manner and soooo easy to talk to and discuss things with! Recommend highly!!!
Dr. Mercer was recommended to me by a friend who had incontinence issues. I looked him up and saw that not only is he a urogynecologist but also a former Professor and Chair at Northwestern Univeristy. Very smart and friendly doc - figured out my problem (no one else had been able) and addressed it right away. I am so glad he practices in Orlando. I have already referred others to him. Staff is also nice and helpful. Thank you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
