List of Melissa Morello's Reviews
I went to Dr. Morello’s office for long lasting chest pain and cough caused by a cold (not COVID). By the time of the visit to Dr. Morello’s office, my symptoms had lasted for a month, and I had almost finished a course of antibiotics and an steroid prescribed at an urgent care (the week before I had asked for an appointment at Dr. Morello’s, but I was directed to an urgent care instead). The medications had caused very painful side effects and had not cured me at all. They had only increased my chest pain and caused a lot of other painful side effects. I explained all this to Dr. Morello, but she disregarded my comments and simply asked me to finish the medication prescribed. I emphasized on the side effects both medications were causing, and asked her to please prescribe an alternative. The only alternative she offered was Tylenol, but she said it might not work much. I decided to listen to her just because she also ordered an x-ray. I thought the x-ray results would lead to a different course of treatment. The x-ray results took two days (time in which I remained in pain, of course). Dr. Morello didn’t even take the time to call about them. Instead, an assistant of hers called me. The assistant seemed completely unaware of my symptoms, and all she said was that the x-ray came normal. I explained to her that the pain and cough had not eased at all, and I had already finished the medication as indicated. “Just take Tylenol for the pain,” she repeated. I explained that I already had, and it had done nothing for me. And what about the cough?, I asked. The assistant said she would check with the doctor. Five days passed (no one seemed to care that I was in pain) and another assistant finally called. Once again, I had to explain the whole ordeal to him. He called back an hour later with a prescription for Tessalon pearls for the cough. Again, I explained to him that the chest pain and difficulty to breath when exercising remained and Tylenol was just not helping. He said he would ask Dr. Morello. He called back until the next day. Nothing for the pain, but Tylenol, and no intention to find out where the pain comes from. “Dr. Morello says the pain it’s probably from the cough,” he said. I explained to him the cough was not intense enough to cause such level of pain and chest tightness. I also told him (again) that it had lasted for over a month, intensified even with light exercise, and made my breathing uneasy when walking. That’s not normal, I emphasized. He once again suggested to just take Tylenol and use an albuterol inhaler for the uneasy breathing. I unsuccessfully tried to explain to him that I wanted to have all these ailments cured, not just eased. I was extremely frustrated at this point and I repeated that my symptoms have lasted for more than a month, and I had already taken all the prescribed medications with zero improvement. I had also spent a lot of time and money for the x-ray and treatment, and was left with only OTC solutions and a lot of painful side effects from all the medications taken. With a very disregarding and condescending tone, he said he would check with Dr. Morello to see if may be she wanted to do a referral. Two days have passed, and no call back or referral. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money with all this. I’m now suffering from the side effects caused by the useless medications prescribed. I’m in a lot of pain, coughing, and trying to ease my symptoms just with OTC medication while I try to find a new PCP, and a specialist that would see me soon without a referral. What’s more disappointing is that Dr. Morello and her assistants treated me like if I didn’t know when something is wrong with my body, and they knew better just because the doctor saw me for five minutes at her office. On a side note, I never chose Dr. Morello as my PCP. She was rather imposed to me by an Advent Health error. I chose Dr. Arianna Becker and had my initial appointment with her a long time ago, but without notice or consent, Dr. Morello was assigned as my PCP.
She was recommended to me but I would not recommend her. One of the office employees told me some people think she's too young when I first visited but I never saw them again and chalked it up to a disgruntled employee. I am out of my 20s and not old yet but every visit she literally challenged me with "but how do you know it's not due to your age" when a lab came back with bad results, I had a symptom, question, asked for a referral for an issue, etc. Based on that mindset she's not far from rolling herself into a medical grave either. Adding that she disbelieved that I needed any treatment enough to record only things like "appears to be anxious" so there is no record of the issues, or trips, time and money wasted.
I was with her for a short time but she was very personable and took care of all my needs. Thank you Melissa
knowledgeable, kind, and efficient.
I came in for my annual exam. I had seen Dr. Morello once when she was in her residency. I was glad to see her as part of the Winter Park Advent Health Group. She was kind and attentive. I highly recommend her. She is our next generation of brilliant health care professionals and I am very happy to have found her again.
If you're a young women trying to establish new patient care, look somewhere else. My wife said she pushed back on every single blood test that she wanted as a baseline and made her give a reason for every single test she was requesting. She also mentioned that she didn't feel comfortable reading most of the tests she was requesting (even though labcorp already does that for you with ranges they provide and if she was out of range could have provided a referral). Also, if you can't interpret simple blood tests, what kind of doctor are you? The only thing she seemed passionate about was providing referrals to other docs in the area. I think she needs to be reminded that her duty is to be working with her patients to achieve optimal health instead of doing the bare minimum and working against their requests. She even refused to write a script for a covid antibody test that is covered by our insurance. I called my doctor and the nurses gladly faxed one over with no questions asked so I'm not sure what is going on with this lady or where her health priorities are but please save yourself a co-pay and go somewhere else. Her staff was really nice and helpful though so that's why she doesn't get 0 stars.
Wonderful Dr and staff. Very helpful and listens to you and your concerns. I went to a Dr in orlando that was basically trying to tell me I didn't know my own body and trying to dismiss me. I've been leery of going to another Dr ever since and Dr. Morello is wonderful. She's seeing me and my son and I love her and her staff. Very well organized to get you in and out quickly.
Dr. Morello has been an excellent provider. She is attentive, open minded and non-judge mental. I am critical when it comes to the physicians I add to my care team. I had great difficulty finding a general practitioner well versed enough to take on my chronic healthcare needs; however, finding Dr. Morello ended that long search.
Staff was friendly and the Dr. Morello was nice, attentive and easy to talk to whilst answering all of our concerns. Highly recommended.
I'm sorry to hear about the other rating. I had a completely different experience. I was able to register before my appointment limiting face to face contact at the front desk and able to make my next appointment while I was in the room before I left. The medical assistant was personable and thorough. The doctor came in shortly thereafter and was also personable, thorough, and didn't feel rushed. She took care of all of my concerns and I was very satisfied.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
