List of Shivanand Karkal's Reviews
Dr. Karkal is knowledgeable and attentive but demands too many tests. He wants to see me every 6 weeks and gives me an echocardiogram every time I'm in the office. My cardiac health isn't that bad.
Dr. Karkal is knowledgeable, caring, and very alert to my cardiac needs. Communicates and takes time to acknowledge any issues I may have.
I have seen Dr. Karkal for multiple years. After I did some major tests in one office and then visited several years later, he could not locate my labs. So there was nothing to compare. Each time I visit, it takes over 1/2 day and he tries to push as many tests on you as possible. You wait while they get insurance authorization. Now they require a deposit on all tests prior to tests to ensure they get paid even if you have insurance. I have turned down tests and was made to go into his office to hear high pressure techniques to take the lab tests. Even when I tell him I will come back in a few weeks he is like 'I don't want any cardiac episodes to happen to you during this time'. Will never return back.
Seems pretty thorough and has a great staff. Will soend time talking with patient.
I find him to be straightforward. He explains his findings and discusses options.
Did not like this man demanding statements. Found another but Dr. Karkal has not forwarded my records to my new doctor. I wanted a 2nd opinion. This has been going on since June 2016 and here it is November 20126.
He takes the time to sit and talk with you. He listens and answers questions.
Rude, not recommended.
He has been the only Doctor in my 39 years of dealing with health professionals due to my T1 Diabetes that has treated me like a lab rat. He did not listen to me and my concerns. He only thought of what research he could on me. I got no new information from numerous of unnecessary tests and than he wanted to do more because he was fascinated with my innocent heart murmur. I am very fit and healthy, I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and have no symptoms of any heart problems. I would NOT recommend him to anyone and I will NEVER go back to him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
