I gave a one star rating because of the inefficiency and carelessness of both the doctor's ultrasound review and the staff's reading of the review and subsequent patient notification. The referring doctor's orders specifically stated that an ultrasound was needed instead of a mammogram because of deep brain stimulator implants and wires in the breast areas, and the danger of breaking the leads to the brain if a mammogram was done. Evidently either no one read this or paid attention to this. As a result, we received a letter from his office with a heading of "bilateral breast ultrasound" stating that "your recent mammography examination showed an abnormality that requires further follow-up....". Would you be confused and scared to receive this? The actual results showed NO abnormalities in either breast, indicating that the results were incomplete and that additional imaging was needed. How can you do additional imaging when you cannot have a mammogram done? This doctor and staff needs to pay attention to the orders and his staff needs to pay attention to what is order and the proper results before sending out these letters! I sure hope someone from his office reads this so this does not happen in the future!
