She dismissed my fathers low red blood cell and white cell counts for two years! She explained, well he is old...this was a man who was lifting 30lb weights in each hand, was going to the gym everyday and walking an additional mile or so every day. After 2 years of declining counts, she sent him to a hematologist/oncologist, yes, it’s cancer and too late for chemo. This past week she told him about hospice, even though there is no terminal signs yet and he lives very independently.
