I would not recommend this doctor ! He came off as a rushed, arrogant man. He could not answer a simple question as I asked How many patients have you treated with Cushings? He was unable to answer, instead he stated I have been in practice over 20 years..... Avoid this doctor at all cost!
We had an appointment and we were expecting to wait for hours like most other Doctors, not so with Dr Renato Concepsion we were seen at the scheduled time. He took his time and asked lots of questions instead of just prescribing a bunch of test and procedures. He answered all our questions and was a pleasure to deal with. We will never go anywhere else for care or treatment.
I was a Tampa patient until he closed his office and left town without any notice no phone call, letter, or email. New office says that hes not refilling any prescriptions for Tampa patients and I will run out of meds before new doctor can see me. Stay away from him. No telling where hell end up next.
Excellent doctor, I saw him for over 16 years. sadly, he has moved to Fort Myers
Terrific Doctor.
Terrible and unorganized office staff. Often discourteous on phone; inept at managing tasks.
Great doctor. Office staff not so good.
When I went to see the doctor his office looked really bad. It gave me the impression that they were moving out. They need a new office or to remodel that one. I went to this doctor because my PCP recommended him. I was disappointed with the staff. I have given them time to get my blood work and they always say they have not gotten it. But have the asked the doctor for it? NO! I called my doctor and asked if they have sent the report and they said yes. I spoke with 2 different people and they said yes, in 2 different times they send it. I will end up looking for another doctor. Unbelievable.
This staff is rather constantly changing and right now is not very efficient. I believe retraining is needed...or new more proficient hires.
In the beginning, about three years ago, I like Dr. Concepcion. But this last year has been horrible, mostly due to his staff. I told the Dr over the course of six months that I was not feeling good. I was told to wait and see, give it time, and then told it was depression and I should see a shrink. I saw another endocrinologist and was back on my feet within weeks. Dealing with his staff also became a nightmare. In one example, I had to speak with someone from his office for five days (MTWTh and then the following M, as they are closed on Fridays) and NEVER got an answer to a very simple question...should I be supplementing Vit. D and K? Five conversations and NEVER got an answer. I gave up after a week and just went and bought some. For the last month Ive been trying to get his office to fix a wrong diagnostic code so that my insurance will pay for the test. Ive made weekly phone calls to his staff for five weeks now and they still havent fixed the code! I have had enough and have started seeing another endocrinologist.
First endo I visited after diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes from my family dr. Im an avid runner and marathoner and he told me I would have to give that up because it would be too hard to maintain my blood sugars (not true). He also couldnt understand why I was testing my blood sugar 5+ times a day. Um...Before I eat a meal, before and after exercise and in the event of feeling low. His bedside manner left a lot to be desired as well. I would strongly recommend just going to your family Dr. if you cant get in with anyone else. Left crying.
Someone should tell this doctor that his office staff is ruining his practice. I am a healthcare professional and I can say I have never encountered this level of extreme unprofessionalism. This is unfortunate because I was impressed with Dr Concepcion, his attention to detail and compassion were above average. However his staff is so terrible that I wont be returning.
To schedule a time to see him I had to have my referring Dr call because his office will NOT RETURN. CALLS. Once I had the appt it was three weeks later. At the appt he had not reviewed my chart and asked me why I was there. I told him I was referred for anything unknown thyroid problem. He told me in one sentence that the labs did not reflect anything that would indicate a problem. That it was in my mind or I had cancer. He scheduled labs to rule out cancer and scheduled a n appt for three weeks after the lab. Showed for my appt to see if its cancer... He is not in and NO ONE CALLED ME. not to let me know or to reschedule. This is not even a good person how can he be a good dr??.
Dr. Concepcion takes time and is clear and patient, could not be better, however the office staff is another story. I called to get test results before my second appt. They gave those to me, with dosage and recommendations and instructions, so far so good. A few days before my appt. a staff member called me to ask me if I took the test ????? In the office they asked me what I was taking (their recommendations) and then wrote it down wrong, so when I saw the doctor he recited it wrong to me and I had to straighten in out. It should have been recorded when they told it to me over the phone and those kind of mistakes (dosage) could be problematic.I will give it another chance but if the record keeping does not improve I will not feel safe with this doctor, even if I like him very much.
The staff is beyond RUDE & the doctor padded the insurance bill. When I tried to ask him questions, he rudely dismissed me.The entire office needs a seminar in manners 101!
I was very comfortable with Dr. Concepcion. Its taken me a long time to go and see an endorinologist. Ive had a thyroid disorder for almost 20 years that I either did not treat or (more recently) agreed to treatment through my primary care. I was REALLY scared to see a specialist, but Dr. Concepcion was very nice, very calm, had excellent bedside manner and explained things to me in a way I could understand. He was funny, saw that I was scared and made a few jokes to ease the tension. By the end of the visit I was glad that I went and I will go back.
He is one of the best doctors I have ever been to...I give him and his staff an A plus...
This doctor is a straight up a*hole. I went in there for my first appointment after never being treated for thyroid conditions and having an abnormal blood test. He wrote me a prescription for synthroid. After various research I decided I wanted to be on a more natural medicine desiccated thyroid. I called his office and asked the receptionist if she could ask him to change my medicine. She called me back and said that he is referring you to another endo. I asked why and she simply said you and the doctor dont agree on your treatment. Then, they sent me a letter that I could no longer be a patient. VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! This guy has so many patients he has a waiting list 2 months out and could care less about your well being or listening to your needs. RUN! Insurance: United Healthcare
Dr Concepcion is an excellent doctor. He cares about his patients, and works hard to help keep me in good health. Hes very knowledgable, and puts that knowledge to good use. I recommend him to everyone I know who needs an endocrinologist.
