Meh. Went to her for two years. Her office is unorganized. Their phone tree is even unorganized. They will take weeks to call you about labs and results. It feels like the ice age in there. They need a whole new makeover and a whole new vibe. It’s 2025. You will not get info on the latest fibroid procedures (because she doesn’t perform them) but you will get info on hysterectomies (because she does perform those).

Dr. Valerie Johnson was the best OB/GYN I’ve ever seen. She made me feel unbelievably comfortable and answered all my questions thoroughly. I was able to talk to her and get real concrete information. She the best!

Very Satisfied I was referred to Dr Johnson by my OBGYN doc for a total hysterectomy in Dec 2022. Dr Johnson did a fantastic job! The surgery went very well and my recovery has been without any issue. I am very grateful for the expertise of Dr Johnson and recommend her highly.

Worst medical experience EVER I was referred to Dr. Johnson to do a myomectomy. Initially I loved her confidence. However, what was supposed to be a 20 minute procedure ended with her perforating my uterus AND small bowel and me having to have a bowel resection. While cosmetics might be insignificant, I now have a HUGE scar from my navel to bikini line. To make matters worst, when I was being taken to Northside for the surgery, Dr. Johnson’s staff tried to force my mother to sign a waiver . Thankfully, my mom was a social worker for 35 years and knows you can’t deny giving medical attention if needed. Final strew: When Dr. Johnson came to visit me during my 4 day hospital stay, she never once apologized and blamed my anatomy for the perforation. My husband is a MD and when he read her surgery report, he was FURIOUS at how she performed this operation. Ladies, I know we’re looking for a obgyn and some of us want a woman of color, but seriously, keep looking.

Dr. Johnson has been a life saver. I can not say enough about how wonderful she is. She explains all your options and listens to your needs and wants. I have had pleasant experiences with her staff. Everybody has been so helpful and professional from scheduling to answering questions, and medical needs. Even when I speak to other medical professionals they have nothing but praises and good things to say about Dr. Johnson. She is absolutely one of the best in her field.

I have been seeing Dr. Johnson for many years and I must say that she is truly a godsend! She performed my tubal ligation when I opted for permanent birth control, and my hysterectomy to cure me of the ongoing and unbearable symptoms of numerous uterine fibroids. On top of that she saved my life by discovering an abnormality (while in surgery) which turned out to be cancer in my appendix! I cannot thank her enough! Each procedure was performed successfully with no complications and with exceptional bedside manner. It is a blessing to have such a skilled, caring, genuine, and transparent doctor like her!

BEST OBGYN The Importance of Making Time to Really Listen to Your Patients is one aspect that many doctors have forgotten these days. But, Dr Valerie Johnson was really nice and patiently listened to my issues so she can treat the root cause. She is one of the finest and most professional doctor. Inspite of being busy, she took time to reach out to me personally to discuss my issue. I would highly recommend her. She is my doc for life.
