Wellstar Health System's Online Review Report Card

This Wellstar Urgent Care center was really great. You can tell they have their act together; organized, clean facility, the front staff and Doctor communicated clearly and LISTENED. I also appreciated that I can get all communications, test results, after visit instructions, etc through the MyChart app. I am in the military and and can tell they have planned patient care to be this way, this was not a fluke. I prefer to go to a Wellstar facility when possible.

What’s the point of booking a time slot online and checking in online, if walks ins are allowed to go in before you and you end up waiting like you were a walk in. This is the waiting room experience.

What a load of bull. Makes you wait while you’re bleeding over and wont even let you have another person wait for you? I understand the covid scares and precautions but what if the person is unable to answer questions or can’t speak english. The idea is to help people not make pointless obstacles.

I had an excellent experience at Wellstar Avalon. It was very convenient that all services were offered there. The check in process was very orderly and I was taken back and seen fairly quickly. The doctor ordered X-rays and that department came promptly to get me and after the X-rays they returned me to my exam room. The doctor came back in 15 minutes with the results. Everyone I interacted with was kind and caring. A few days later I received a follow up phone call asking how I was doing. If needed I will definitely use them again and recommend them.

I was a new patient of WellStar. In first visit to my primary care doctor, he instructed me to have my blood test done and he said there is a lab on the first floor. On May 7th 2021 around 4 p.m. I was there to complete my blood work.When I entered the room, there was no welcoming atmosphere. No questions, just robotic moments, like sit, open your arm without asking anything. The person who is responsible to get my blood test didn't even pay attention to my arm, that hurts me. I was not comfortable since my arm started to get numb, and even I wasn't feel my fingers while she was changing the tubes. While she is doing her job she was looking around and having lack of attention. She pressed the last tube really hard, that causes deeper pain on my right arm. She stared at me and ask if she hurted me with an uncomfortable smiley face. Because she keeps not having attention, and respected to me, I decided to talk to someone else about her behavior.When I asked help to the patient desk, they referred me to the emergency to check my hand and arm since my arm was completely numb. The doctor in the ER informed me that the issue that I am having is out off her profession. She only recommended me the ice press.I waited to feel well the whole weekend, I sent an email to Manager - Lab Outreach to let she know my issue on May 11th. After my second email she responded me next day. Recommended me, following up with my primary care physician if the pain continues. My pain was there 2 complete weeks.I could not use my arm and hand 2 weeks, and I tried to reached out to responsible person but I could not be successfully. 3 months later they sent me an invoice includes the ER service. After calling many times the accounting and the customer service with endless conversation, what they did is only listening and navigating me to patient advocate service. When I reached out the patient advocate service they said, someone will call me and solve the issue in upcoming 3 days. But no one called me no one helped me.My overall experience from the lab is unsatisfactory. They want to charge me for emergency service fee, even they did not treated me okay. I'm a patient. I have full of rights as a legal patient. I have the right to be treated with respect.
