I had neck fusion surgery of 4,5 and 6. It has made a significant improvement in my life.
I had a three level cervical fusion done just days ago for arm weakness after an auto accident. Not sure of the results yet since it will take months to know that but Dr. Walpert and her office team along with the Piedmont hospital team did a great job operating on me. From check-in to check-out very smooth and professional. I wouldn't look any further than Piedmont Neurosurgery and Dr. Walpert!
Dr.Walpert was great with me
Dr. Walpert was caring and helped my lower back pain without surgery.
Stay away total waste of time wouldn't order any test to rule out spin problems.
Condescending and arrogant accurately describe this surgeon. There are better choices.
Office staff is the worst. Rude and don't care about patients. Maybe if they don't have any patients they won't have a job which is really what they deserve based on the way they treat you. Arrived on time for an appointment (which we always have to wait on the doctor) was told we should have arrived 15 minutes before the appointment. WOW!
Horrid experience. After my mother's back surgery, my parents called multiple times to ask for appointment because my mother began regaining mobility but started to regress. They were repeatedly pushed off saying that it was a hard surgery, she was older, etc. My mother was fully functional except for a lot of pain prior to surgery. Rather than bringing my mother in for an appointment to diagnose, Walpert just continued to increase pain medication - who does this in a day and age where such awareness has been raised about the danger of habit-forming pain medication!?. Once my mother was bed ridden and she went to the emergency room, it was discovered that an entirely different disc had ruptured. I walked into an emergency room when my mother could no longer function just in time to here this "doctor" essentially scolding and talking down to my very capable parents obviously trying to twist the blame and cover her tracks. As soon as I very calmly started listing the details of the time table and how it was handled, she became combative and could not get away fast enough. Fast forward, my mother was left in this state so long that the nerve damage was irreversible and my mother has been confined to a bed ever since. Her physical health and mental health has steadily declined and has in turn destroyed my father's health. After reading other reviews, it is obvious that Walpert has a track record of being reckless and dismissive. Do NOT go this "doctor".
My grandmother went here and she completely messed up back surgery! She lost all ability to walk because of this woman. She then did another surgery basically without consent. She is in much more pain than she ever was.
Dr. Walpert came in off duty to help partner, Dr. Patil do an emergency subdural hematoma evacuation via mini-craniotomy at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. I was out of it when my friend found and brought me in, so don't remember her. However, I'm told she worked on one half of my skull/brain, while Dr. Patil did the other half. Almost 2 mo. later, and I'm feeling almost normal, although I was told it would take a year. Follow up CT scan looked good, and I am expecting full recovery. I am grateful to have access to such good neurosurgeons.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
