Mohan Iyer's Online Review Report Card

I was referred to Mohan N. Iyer, M.D., by Dr. Flood from Lavonia Ty Cobb group after my vision took a turn for the worse. Dr.Iyer has and continues to demonstrate good levels of medical care for my retina related issues. Have since moved on to another M.D. for this service.

The doctors here are very thorough and are helping me through a difficult situation with my eye. Waiting time may be long, though, because each patient's needs are different and several tests may be needed.

The staff is nice. Wait times are minimal. Dr. Iyer is very nice and thorough. He is knowledgeable and explained my condition and treatment very well. I feel good about letting him diagnose and treat me. Ashley Flowers Bridgman

Athens Retina Center: Dr. Mohan N. Iyer, MD He is the best, he personally call the Neurologycal office and spoke with the specialist gave him all the details about my husband case, they give us an appointment for the same day. He was so professional and knowledgeable he discovered that my husband has a brain mass that was affecting his vision. After surgery he call and follow up to see how was his improvement. Thank you to Dr. Iyer his vision is 20/20. Highly recommend him

I found Dr. Iyer and his staff to be exceptionally kind and relaxing to me, who as an older patient needs! My fears were unfounded and I found everyone I dealt with to be most knowledgeable and efficient while at the same time being professional.

Dr. Iyer waa a godsend! I had an extremely rare complication from cataract surgery. My opthalmologist who performed my surgery referred me straight over to Dr. Iyer the very next day post surgery. Kudos go to my cataract surgeon as well for that expediency. I could never have imagined any doctor so intrinsically invested in the care-taking, diagnosing, testing, treating my highly unusual circumstance that was also critical with my eye as Dr. Iyer exhibited. I was under his care daily to weekly to monthly for 4 months. He saved my eye and my sight! That is the truth and his care was of the most professional and compassionate that any doctor could possibly exhibit. My thankfulness is without end.

Went for a 3 month follow up today, called ahead to let them know I would be 10 mins late. The waiting room was packed at 9:25 am! Average age of patient appeared to be 70+ (most were with a caregiver). After 45 mins I asked when I would be seen, the receptionist reminded me I was late and told me I was next. An additional 25 minutes passed, several patients were getting restless new arrivals were being told it would be a 2 hour visit. I promptly cancelled my appt. the receptionist encouraged me to stay or reschedule. This is my 4th visit to Dr. Iyer's office every visit has been a lengthy wait... and a brief visit with the Doctor. Personally I felt my appointments were rushed, impersonal, and did not allow for questions to be asked. His specialty is urgently needed in Athens. Unfortunately I will not be returning. There aren't any many reviews written I hope the feedback is received positively and will shed some light and bring about improvements.

I can not say enough good things about Dr Iyer! When my Retina detached he had me come in immediately and gave me options. He worked on my eye for over an hour in his office right then to attach it. He had me come in daily for that entire week and he also came in on his day off for a follow up visit and was going to operate that day if it was needed. He is very professional and to the point with what he wants you to do. From not being able to see at the start of the visit to almost having all my vision back 3 weeks later is amazing and I owe it all to Dr Iyer!

Excellent doctor with an exceptionally good manner with patients. Efficient, professional, and careful. Very pleasant and often quite funny. I really love this guy. Great staff. Super efficient.
