I was in for my 3rd mammogram 3rd ultrasound this year not to mention 15 minute ct scan few weeks back I’ve survived 2 year treatments blood cancer terrified I now have Brest cancer I’ve waited 9 months to see what today holds I get called to check in and I’m ask to pay so I ask to be billed mind u I have all my financial matters up to date I’m in good standing there she refuses I have never felt so uncomfortable ashamed all I could do was think is if I didn’t need to know if I had cancer or not I’d crawl in hole die and what hurt most thinking of next lady if they could not pay having to leave not even knowing I promise I don’t write this for me I write it so no one ever feels like I did today if the lady that checked me in doses not even remember me because I assure u she didn’t care I just hope someone helps who’s next w all my heart I’d never wish that on any one just shaking her head I’ll never forget that look ever

Registration staff were very friendly. My tech Britney was amazing. The only thing I would do differently is bring my own robe from home. I have sensitive skin and the robe they provided was itchy and broke me out. Other than that it was a wonderful experience

As a person presenting with BC x2, I expected more from this center going for an annual mammogram, which showed yet another tumor (fortunately small and not aggressive). Scheduling, billing, and communication were generally poor. The waiting area was crowded, with no place to sit. Although I was repeatedly told I'd be called with my results, no call was forthcoming, and my call in was not returned. After my surgery, I no longer need mammograms, but if I did, I'd go to St. Mary's. To put the icing on the cake, the day of my diagnostic mammogram, in which the radiologist found the tumor, I was so upset, I lost my parking ticket/card. I understand that the gate keeper was just doing his job, and that I was responsible for getting my ticket validated or paying a fee, but let's see how composed the average person is when they're told, "You have cancer...again." No exceptions to the rule. It's the small things, folks, that really do matter when people are struggling with their health.

The QUALITY of care that I received there

I’m received outstanding care in the cardiology unit at Piedmont Athens. I arrived having a heart attack and had a procedure for a stent the following day. I returned a couple of weeks later for four more stents. The doctors and nurses made sure I knew exactly what I needed and why throughout my stays. I was told why I needed every medication and diet change. I suppose in a way they scared me enough to cause me to follow their orders explicitly when I headed home. The results over the last almost eight months have been remarkable. I’ve lost almost twenty-five pounds, have improved my EF score from 37% to 55% during just the first four months, and returned to hiking and Jazzercise. I was surprised to see this pop up this evening. I was out of town when I was taken to Piedmont Athens, and actually stopped by today to express my gratitude to the nurses and doctors on the fifth floor on my first return visit to Athens since October. Thanks for taking such great care of me! I feel very blessed to be here.

Do not bring elderly person for Ortho issue. ER can do nothing except tell you to bring it ACROSS THE STREET to a walk in clinic!!!

I went to the E.R. last. night the medical staff was terrible. From the nurses to the doctor. They put me in a dirty exam room. wasn't given a gown to change in . I was there for a sore throat and back pain. They barely opened there mouths to talk.. they took a sample from my throat. the doctor touched my back but never sent me to get an exam. They gave me 2 Tylenol and 1 antibiotic pill then released. me.. They released a patient whos blood pressure was extremely high my BP was 183/120 when I checked in but was higher when I checked out..He ( the doctor ) assumed I didn't have insurance and kept recommending that I do my check up at the health department when I clearly told him my personal doctor. Those four people who took care of me was terrible

My dad was in terrible four wheeler accident and while in the emergency room a nurse said she was unable to help him go because she was a female and he just had to wait because all the male nurses were too busy. So with 7 broken ribs and a broken arm I tried my best to help my dad use the restroom. I didn't know nurses had the choice of choosing who to help. I'm definitely spreading the word on my experience.
