My husband, Jeremy Johnson, recently stayed 8 days, on the 4th floor!!! Ya'll nurses Rock!!! Dr. Henkle and Hope are two of the best doctors I've ever encountered! And a few of the nurses need a BIG shoutout- Indera, Brittney, and Jenn~ the three of you made a confusing and trying time comfortable and as pleasant as possible, given the circumstances. And to Dr. Henkle'a assistant, Briana Thank you for putting up with all my endless questions! The nurses and doctors I've mentioned, went above and beyond what was expected. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!! Ya'll are what angels must look like!!
Highly disappointed with the care my mother received after being in a car accident. Majority of my issues are with the ER staff. When she arrived she was given morphine, which she mentioned would make her sick, the nurse continued to administer more than one dose even after she was sick. She then had to go to radiology for a CT, MRI, & X-rays, the nurse that came to get her was rushing her saying "we need you to hurry up because we have other people we need to scan". My mother has a fractured sternum & a hematoma in her chest. Once one the floor she notified her nurse that she noticed blood in her urine, this issue was never address but merely brushed off as "you're dehydrated". After this experience I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.
professionalism to start with & patient safety.
Nurses and Dr.Zouian gave excllent care ! (in June....
The QUALITY of care that I received there
I’m received outstanding care in the cardiology unit at Piedmont Athens. I arrived having a heart attack and had a procedure for a stent the following day. I returned a couple of weeks later for four more stents. The doctors and nurses made sure I knew exactly what I needed and why throughout my stays. I was told why I needed every medication and diet change. I suppose in a way they scared me enough to cause me to follow their orders explicitly when I headed home. The results over the last almost eight months have been remarkable. I’ve lost almost twenty-five pounds, have improved my EF score from 37% to 55% during just the first four months, and returned to hiking and Jazzercise. I was surprised to see this pop up this evening. I was out of town when I was taken to Piedmont Athens, and actually stopped by today to express my gratitude to the nurses and doctors on the fifth floor on my first return visit to Athens since October. Thanks for taking such great care of me! I feel very blessed to be here.
Do not bring elderly person for Ortho issue. ER can do nothing except tell you to bring it ACROSS THE STREET to a walk in clinic!!!
After my father had a CT scan performed at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center the GI ranked his conditions in priority of 1) Colonoscopy to rule out cancer in that area. 2) a biopsy of the liver via CT scan, because he was admitted due to liver failure. 3) to remove a porcelain gallbladder. The colonoscopy was performed and there was NO cancer!! Praise Jesus! The procedure was over by Monday 10:30am. By 4:30pm Dr. M. Garb said that my father was ready for discharge! W H A T? Meld score 15, Ammonia number 69. THE only "treatment" that had been done regarding the liver was a lasix pill. THAT'S IT. When I questioned Dr. Garg as to why she was sending us home her answer was, "Well the biopsy can be performed out patient". WAIT, we are here! At your facility right now! Dr. P.M. also wanted my father there so the tests could come to him. So that he would not have to travel around town in his condition. We deserve answers Piedmont Healthcare!!
WORST HOSPITAL EVER! Dr Karl Barnett is a joke of a dr. He does not care for a patient at allRefused to treat and sent us on our wayGuess his oath meant nothing. Should have his licenses revolved.Should not be allowed the human race. He is AWFUL!!
I went to the E.R. last. night the medical staff was terrible. From the nurses to the doctor. They put me in a dirty exam room. wasn't given a gown to change in . I was there for a sore throat and back pain. They barely opened there mouths to talk.. they took a sample from my throat. the doctor touched my back but never sent me to get an exam. They gave me 2 Tylenol and 1 antibiotic pill then released. me.. They released a patient whos blood pressure was extremely high my BP was 183/120 when I checked in but was higher when I checked out..He ( the doctor ) assumed I didn't have insurance and kept recommending that I do my check up at the health department when I clearly told him my personal doctor. Those four people who took care of me was terrible

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
