The wellstar on austell road in Marietta Georgia is the worst. The staff do nothing but stand around without giving you any updates on your status. My mom was a patient in the emergency room and we were there for more than 4 hours. They need to close this place down asap. They need a customer service class. I wouldn’t take my enemy to this hospital

⚠️ My Story: How Wellstar Douglas OBGYN Almost Ended My Healthy Pregnancy I under no circumstances recommend this practice. In short: they nearly killed my baby. Thankfully, my story had the happiest ending—my beautiful daughter, Lucille Gale, was born healthy on 05/28/2025 🩷—but what happened before that still haunts me, and I’m finally ready to share. ⸻ The Background I track my cycles with ovulation tests, so I knew exactly when I conceived. My dates didn’t match my last menstrual period (LMP), and I explained this when making my first appointment. Despite this, the staff told me to come in based on my LMP. This meant I was less than 6 weeks pregnant, but they were expecting me to be 9 weeks. ⸻ Misleading Diagnosis At the appointment, they couldn’t find a heartbeat. The ultrasound tech brought in the doctor, and I was told to come back in a few days after bloodwork to confirm a miscarriage. I left devastated. The next morning, Dr. Davenport—who had delivered my daughter less than a year prior oddly greeted me with “nice to meet you”—called and said I had a molar pregnancy and needed to come in immediately for a D&C. ⸻ Pressure to Abort They told me I might develop cancer and insisted the procedure happen that day. Because I had eaten pizza for breakfast, they had to delay until the afternoon. Another doctor “confirmed” it was a molar pregnancy and told me I’d start experiencing certain symptoms—symptoms I did not have. ⸻ I would like to note: in Georgia, before a D&C, you must fill out paperwork naming your unborn child and explaining why you’re terminating. At only 5 weeks, without a heartbeat confirmed, I declined. I just wanted to hear my babies heartbeat yesterday. ⸻ The Turning Point By what I truly believe was divine intervention, the ultrasound tech before surgery double-checked for a heartbeat—and found one. The doctor called it “a miracle of God.” No. This wasn’t a miracle. This was a trained professional doing her job and preventing them from ending my healthy pregnancy. ⸻ The Unanswered Question Why the rush? Why not wait two weeks, as I requested, to see how things progressed? My new OBGYN, Dr. Caceras in Villa Rica, was shocked. They told me there was absolutely no harm in waiting and that my original diagnosis was reckless at best. ⸻ My Conclusion I will never forgive Wellstar Douglas OBGYN—especially Dr. Davenport—for almost ending my daughter’s life. My heart breaks for anyone else who may have been pressured or misdiagnosed there. I share this so that no one else has to endure what I went through. To the staff who pushed for that D&C: you didn’t “save” me, and it wasn’t a “miracle.” My daughter is here because someone actually took the time to do their job.

I took my son to Wellstar Pediatric Orthopedics today and our experience was amazing. Literally everyone we came in contact with, the secretary, nurses, x ray technicians, and orthopedist were all so kind and professional. Thank you so much for quality care!

I had a traumatic eye injury. I am unable to reach the consulting provider due to inaccurate discharge information. The hospital refused to help get the information. Horrible patient service - do not go to them!!

I am so very disappointed with Wellstar Pediatrics. My daughter is currently a patient at Wellstar Neurology. We have had a great experience with the doctor, PA and the entire staff at the actual office. The office manager however has been exceptionally difficult to deal with. We requested to move to a different doctor due to the fact that it currently is a two-hour drive, each way, to our current doctor. If we switch to the other pediatric neurologist, the drive is just an hour each way. The office manager will not allow us to switch because it is against policy. I am so very disappointed. Writing this post in the hopes of some changes to their policies.

Horrible place for care as well as a horrible toxic environment.

$1100 bill for a test commonly priced at $190. Questioned the bill, after two weeks I finally got a response of "well that's what we charge". Interestingly today I somehow have an additional $139 fee related to this test. If I didn't appreciate my primary, this is the point I'd find a new provider. Asked for a itemized bill laying out the specifics of the charges and never received that either. Find somewhere else to be seen if possible.

We HIGHLY recommend Wellstar for all your health needs. Our whole family only goes to Wellstar doctors! Everything is fast, convenient, and professional!

I tried to make appointment with my rheumatologist because I have to have bloodwork every three months to continue on my medicine. My doctor Dr. Yale Ross had a big gap in her schedule. You could not make an appointment from Feb 10, 2025 to June 24, 2025. I was told that I could not have an appointment with another doctor because I was established with her. If my doctor is unavailable to see me, I should be able to make an appointment with another doctor. I made an appointment with another doctor and they sent me an estimate for $340. I have health insurance. .
