List of Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center's Reviews
They said they would call one business day before my surgery to tell me what time to be there. It was 3 pm and I hadn't yet received the call so I called them. One option on the phone sent me where it said the mailbox was full and it wasn't receiving any more messages. The next call (transfer from KP) I have been on hold for 45 minutes and still no one is answering. Horrible customer service. I still don't know what time I am supposed to be there, the surgery was scheduled 3 months ago and at that time they said 7:30 am, but you know how these things are.
Horrible experience! Unemotional robotic greeting when I arrived. Might as well install a kiosk it would save you money. My provider leases the time for my surgery. This is not about the surgeon nor my provider. The pre-op “nurses” almost no personality. They had minimal identity tag except to say RN. From the experience I am guessing it was an online certification, if that is even possible. The first step after you get yourself dressed is to put in an IV. Horrific experience! 6 times in 6 different locations no IV! They kept smacking my hand to pull a vein. They would not listen to me on the best location nor how I have received IV’s in the past. In my 58 years; 4 surgeries, over 100+ blood and never this kind of experience. The anesthesiologist came in and took over, thank God! He put my arm below my heart off the bed, raised the bed and first try I have an IV! He did exactly how I told them I have received IV’s before. He could see the bruising that began to appear all over my hands and arms and was embarrassed. He tried to professionally show the “RN” how to prevent bruising with gritted teeth… the anesthesia Dr. and his team were professional, kind and reassuring. Post-op “nurses” very rude. Wake up to her screaming. She never called my family in the waiting room until after my husband worried starts trying to find an update. Her words; “you need to wake up and get out of here.” Shoving an alcohol wipe under my nose. I was so groggy and remember thinking there is no way I can go home, I can’t even hold my head up. I said, “I am not ready to go home.” She said “you have been her 2 hours, you need to leave.” I heard her then at the desk on the phone saying; “you can come back to see her now she is ready to go home.” The machine kept beeping over head and I was trying to see what my BP/O2 was on last reading, felt short of breath and told her how I was feeling. She said; there is no reason you need to stay your numbers are fine. Total disregard to the patient. She was so happy I had packed a dress so she didn’t have to help me get dressed! No verbal home instructions for my family. Post op phone call…. Addressed herself as a “nurse” and asked how was I doing or had any concern's. I had what I thought was a simple question and she said you will need to call your Dr. I asked and what number do I call for help? She didn’t know. Thankfully the Dr had called my husband right after surgery with an update and that gave us his cell number. Post op phone call useless and 0 stars. This facility is new for my provider and does not reflect the experience they contracted. Hopefully they will reconsider renewing any contract at this facility.
Besides my actual doctor, I felt that much of the staff acted unprofessionally during my visit. When I first arrived, the front office administrator greeted me with disbelief and dismissed the information I had previously been given about payment. I was told that what I had been told was wrong and that I needed to pay the full cost of the surgery upfront, which was very frustrating. In addition, my interaction with one of the nurses felt uncomfortable. Instead of properly taking my height, she made comments questioning it based only on what I said. The way she interacted with me came across as if she was trying to flirt, which felt unprofessional and out of place. The overall energy of the encounter left me feeling uneasy when all I wanted was to prepare for my surgery. While I appreciate my doctor’s professionalism, I truly hope the rest of the staff can improve on their communication and professionalism moving forward.
Shady billing. They tell you one price and confirm that it is the full amount when asked, then after it is fully paid they send bills for more. Then, if you refuse to pay, they send it to collections for an even higher amount. They also violate HIPAA by giving the collection agency details about the procedure performed. Doesnt get much shadier than that.
I had a cosmetic procedure here on June 9. I love my surgeon and his office staff. They are the greatest. This review is about Atlanta Outpatient Surgery. I have to say the facility was very clean, the front desk people were nice and efficient. The nurses and operating room staff very professional and nice. My bill for the facility was $1,900. I paid in full the morning of the procedure and received a zero balance on a text. Today, one month and two days later, I receive a text saying I owe $237. Updated: I have put the review back to 4 stars because I spoke with Pam in billing and I have two things to say. 1. Pam was very nice and explained the additional charge well. I had no issue with it. She was patient with me and let me talk a long time. She heard me out. Then she was very informative. 2. Their billing office was easy to reach, with a short hold time, less than 5 minutes. However, the 4 star instead of 5 is because the bill has everything on it but the final total, which was $237 higher than the estimate of $1,900. Had the final bill said $2,137, it would have been easy to understand, but it had all of their write-off and charge-off numbers that pertain to them. It's very strange that I would see those numbers, but not the actual number that caused me to owe an additional $237. Pam was able to clear that up for me.
I had the best experience here with getting my tonsils removed yesterday. The front desk staff was so kind and funny. Every. Single. Nurse. Was the sweetest to me and so caring. My surgeon Dr. Aden and my anesthesiologist were wonderful and answered all my questions and made me feel really positive despite being very nervous. I would recommend this center to anyone!- Madison Kuhlman
The facility was grimy and I saw several bugs walking around the waiting room and hallways. The bathroom was visibly dirty. I have to hope the ORs and patient rooms were more hygienic, but I have no way of knowing because I was never brought back to see my husband before he went into the OR, nor to be briefed by the doctor. I was never contacted by a nurse or doctor during or after the surgery, despite the fact that it took over twice as long as we were told it would take. I spent the entire time from arrival to nearly discharge with no information and only knew when he was moving along because of the patient number board. I finally asked to be connected to a nurse 30 minutes after he was moved to recovery and was told that they would call me when I could take him home and that I could only speak to the surgeons if things didn’t go well. I was very frustrated by the lack of communication and the anxiety which it caused. Call me crazy, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a nurse or doctor to come out after a surgery for a quick 10-second “all is well”. If you’re a family member who values a clean facility for your loved one and wants any kind of communication during a procedure, go somewhere else.
Signage and directions to enter building are terrible. Chairs in waiting area not comfortable for long waits e.g. 2-4 hours. No info from OR when procedure takes much longer than predicted.
I took my cousin here for surgery, we had an amazing experience. Cynithia was such a blessing. She sets such a beautiful energy to the overall environment. The way that she is so helpful, patient, and captivates everyone with her smile makes everyone around her comfortable. She sets the standard for patient care. There needs to be more people like Cynithia. May it rain blessings upon her for all of her days! -Johnathan
Very professional staff, friendly and informative. Kept me very comfortable going into surgery. Thanks to Dr. Mason and the wonderful staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
