List of David A. Palay's Reviews
Dr Palay has done both of my Cataract surgeries, 9 years apart..The latest one was very quick and other then a little dry feeling after was painless..Wish I had got it done 2 years ago
Everyone at this clinic was amazing! I saw them for several years before finally deciding to get cataract surgery. Dr. Palay was great and I'm truly astounded by the improvement in my eyesight. Everything was fully explained during the process. Wonderful doctor, staff, & outcome.
Dr. David Palay is a nationally recognized cornea specialist who has performed thousands of cataract surgeries. He is a graduate of Duke and Emory Medical School and just an all-around nice guy. I decided to go through with cataract surgery after my long distance vision began to deteriorate rapidly. I had some concerns as to how I would handle it in the beginning because I am squeamish about my eyes and vision can be corrected in only one at a time. There are not enough stars to describe how well he performed my surgeries and what a helpful staff he has. The results were amazing! Dr. Palay adjusted one eye for 20-20 long distance vision and the other a little less to help with close up reading. The brain automatically adjusts to the eye that can give it the sharpest vision for a given distance. He also corrected my astigmatisms with a permanent toric lens. I don’t really need to wear glasses anymore although that was not my objective in having surgery. Dr. Palay numbs your eye and blocks your vision so you cannot see or feel what he is doing. The actual surgery only takes about 10-15 minutes. I had no pain whatsoever and very slight discomfort for a day. You have to put several types of drops in your eye for a couple of weeks afterwards but you grow accustom to that quickly. I am most grateful to him for completing my second eye after the Surgeon General suggested postponing all elective surgeries in response to COVID-19. He agreed with me that because I had a great disparity while I was “between eyes” and I had never worn contacts it was medically necessary not to delay. He even came in to perform my surgery when he had no other patients scheduled. I can’t thank him and his great staff enough.

AS I WAS UP TO TRI-FOCALS FOR WORK AND THEN TRYING TO PLAY TENNIS IN THESE, THE BEGINNING OF CATARACTS MADE A GREAT DECISION FOR ME. MY SURGERY WENT QUICKLY AND SMOOTHLY. DR PALAY ALLOWED ME PLENTY OF TIME IN CONSULTATION, DURING SURGERY, AND ALL MY FOLLOWING CHECK-UPS. ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I HAD THE IOI DONE, LEFT IS CLOSE UP (MID-DISTANCE FOCUS FOR COMPUTER AND DASHBOARD) AND RIGHT IS DISTANCE. JUST PERFECT. NO GLASSES. YEARS LATER - 20/20 VISION AND I'M 72 YEARS OLD.
Dr. Palay is not only highly competent, but quite compassionate. He was very interested in seeing that my cataract surgeries and follow up exams satisfied my expectations. Highly recommended !
Hugely disappointed!!!! Would never recommend this Dr. Does not take insurance and doesn't tell you that until you're knee deep in. Recommended the wrong lens, which was confirmed by two other Dr.'s. Thank GOD I didn't go through with the surgery. It still cost me over $400. just for the testing and meds! Total cost of cataract replacement was $2000.+ I got it done by a reputable Dr. for $275. and he gave me the proper meds at no additional cost. If I could give him a 0- I would. Shister
Dr. Palay's office staff have an efficiency that is rarely seen these days in a doctor's office yet you can tell they work extremely well together and even enjoy the work they do. Everyone is smiling and comfortable in their roles. Dr. Palay, himself, is extremely qualified, very personable and it is obvious he takes pride in his work and the wellness of his patients. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
Dr. David Palay & Support Staff/AOA office and Northside Hospital were excellent. I researched his credentials/experience/reputation. From the initial appointment through all follow up issues he and and his Staff were thorough and receptive to my queries. This was no easy feat as anyone getting near my eyes triggers anxiety. I chose laser cataract removal and replacement lenses that corrected my vision issues so that glasses of any kind were no longer necessary. Six months later all is well!
He is an incredible surgeon and a very kind person.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
