*** edited a few hours after posting***I’ve been seeing Dr. Tanner for a little over a year now. I initially came to see him when I was having an impossible time getting an appointment at Emory, and they wouldn’t refill my medications. I first had to see him every three months to get my refills. He said once I had an annual done, and was a consistent patient, I could just call for refills. WELL I finally did my annual about two months ago. Called Tuesday to have my prescriptions refilled. Wednesday went by and my pharmacy never called to say my meds were ready. I called the office again Thursday to ask about my prescription and they said they’d be sure to remind the doctor to call in my refill that day. They called me this morning to say he hadn’t sent it yet but they would remind him to do it before they closed today. His receptionist is doing her very best! When I had my break from work today, I checked my pharmacy and they said it STILL had not been called in by my doctor. The office is now closed all weekend, and the answering service will do absolutely nothing to help me. I thought four days would be plenty to have my doctor call in my refills but apparently not. I will be finding a new doctor again unfortunately, as I cannot have days at a time without my medication. If nothing is wrong with you, yeah I guess he’s a great doctor. If you actually need something other than ozempic (which he’s been pushing on me for about 9 months now) you should probably go somewhere else. *** while I was frantically setting up a teledoc appointment after seeing there was no one at the office, (and about 10 minutes after posting initial review) I received a text from my pharmacy that it had just received my script.
Walk into office said hello after missing few appointments. Dr. Or staff didn't greet me. Dr. Tanner started cursing while doing intake, no privacy left door open hippia violation. Ake was was her cursing said other patients ok with him cursing. Verbal abuse. Ask me personally question do I miss sex inappropriate behavior. A lady was to draw blood cluesless. The worst in 28 yrs.
I thought I had a great doctor of 25 years until he retired recently. I changed to Dr Mark Tanner and now I know what a great Doctor really is. He is the closest thing you will get to a Dr Welby in his bedside manner, concern, knowledge. He takes the time with you to figure out what is wrong. He has a little trouble with his staff because they are just learning and you may have to wait a little while in the waiting room, BUT it is all worth it because when you are seeing Dr Tanner in the examing room it is all about you. He is good about calling you back personally instead of a staff member. I glad my old doctor retired as I now have a Doctor who cares
My appointment was for 9:30. I got there at 9:04 the receptionist is horrible. Does not know what she is doing. She kept on asking for my personal information saying she needs to verify my insurance. She even told me twice she could not verify yet so finally she said she verified and asked for $25 deductible. I go to the back room wait for the doctor finally at 10:30 and the doctor comes in saying the receptionist don’t know what she’s doing and today will be her last day because she have made this mistake before and they don’t deal with my insurance. So I’ve this point I’m thinking for 30 minutes what was you verifying then? Wasted an hour of my time when I took off from work
So terrible dealing with him. Idk why I didn’t do real research on the doctor. I came in for an ear infection and he told me to get Fluonase. I should have known from there that it would be a problem dealing with him. I’ve been waiting for him to send a prescription to a very popular Walmart for a week now. First he claimed that they weren’t in the system and that is what caused the delay then his response is that he had something to do. Go to a doctor that is not ready to be done with career!
Dr. Tanner is absolutely the best GP in Atlanta.
Dr. Tanner is an amazing doctor! His bedside manner makes you feel at ease and cared for. He truly cares about his patients and wants to make them look and feel their best. While I was there for my appointment, he let me know he was expanding into aesthetics. Dr. Tanner- I can't wait for your grand opening of your aesthetics side!!!
Dr. Tanner, is very intelligent, knows medicine inside and out, and spends way more time with his patients then other doctors (means a bit of a wait at times.). Spoiled by his caring and professional manner.
Did not even get past making an appointment. In this day and age when people are more concerned for their health and well-being, it blows my mind that companies still employ rude and unprofessional staff. If the woman scheduling would stick to the phone script, perhaps I would have done business with them. Sad!
I've been seeing Dr Tanner for a few years and am always satisfied with my visit. His staff are also wonderful. I highly recommend Dr Tanner as a primary care physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
