While Dr Mitchell Smith is friendly, I find myself incredibly frustrated and disappointed 6 months after my visit. I came in with pain at the bottom of my feet, expecting plantar fasciitis. My symptoms stumped her and another podiatrist at the office. They gave me braces, prescribed gabapentin and recommended I see a neurologist. After a whirlwind of doctors (all from the Emory system) misdiagnosing me, I found myself nearly disabled. I recently went to another podiatrist for a second opinion and they conducted a number of tests and clearly explained my condition with a path to feeling better without medication. Looking back, I’m severely disappointed no basic steps were taken to check my walking patterns, muscle contractions, toe movements, etc. I’ve been struggling for months with this pain because of a missed diagnosis that seems so simple now.

Dr. Smith is AMAZING. Although the office was short staffed during my last appointment, she was as patient, kind and considerate listening to me, questioning me and answering my questions as she has been when the office is fully staffed. Jan is equally as amazing, professional and competent.

I would recommend Dr. Smith to anyone looking for a good podiatric medicine doctor. She has a great patient manner, is professionally very competent and a good advisor on general care of one's feet.
