List of MIchael Aguilar's Reviews
Very rude, unprofessional, and arrogant physician!! Not sure how he even became a doctor. I will never see him again!!
Pick another Surgeon. Maybe the positive reviewers were paid or given free service. I went in to get a mass removed due to Endometriosis and his bedside manner is nonexistent. He's a robot until he realizes he screwed up. The scarring is unbelievable. I've had two C- Sections and you can nearly see the scars. Carelessly done with no consideration. To add insult to injury, my incision was not closed completely and I feel a dent. Who does this. Presently consulting lawyers.
Dr. Aguilar is an absolutely fabulous surgeon! He has performed three lumpectomies on my breast and is truly talented. He is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. He has always put my mind completely at ease with all the stress that can come with having surgery. He is very personable and always makes me feel welcomed and answers all my questions with a nurturing response. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional surgeon!
After months of a primary care failing to address a chronic gallbladder one call to the office I was quickly scheduled at his well appointed, accessible office, with clean bathrooms and directions to nearby amenities. The staff was kind and made sure I had all my information paper work I needed before I left the office the first time. I was treated with great courtesy and a calm attentive manner all the way through. The care and professional interaction I had before, at the hospital, and in my follow up care, including calls to my home to check that I was doing well since I live alone was always polite and helpful. He addresses several complicating factors during my treatment This was one of the best medical experiences I have seen both personally and professionally . He thoroughly briefed me and made sure my nurses had needed information for continuity of care which was Superior at Sutter General .
Think he may be a good doctor but difficult to get continuity of care. Cancels appointments for unknown reasons. Feels like quality of care diminishes after surgery when you still need to be seen.
After waiting a while I was asked for 15 copay, they didn't yet have change for a 20. After 40+ minutes, saw doctor for a few minutes, and was at risk of being late for another medical appointment. As I was quickly leaving they asked if I wanted my change, I said that was OK and left quickly. Guess I should have asked for a receipt. Today 5 months latter I get a bill for the copay. Oh well, at least I made it to the other appointment
I tried to get an appointment for a surgical consultation and was rescheduled 4 times. I understand that Dr. Aguilar is busy, but 4 appointments cancelled and 3 months have gone by! This office obviously does not care about anyone else's schedule!!! I can't take anymore time off from work to be cancelled again and would never recommend this office to anyone!
Say there's not a restroom up stairs as they lost key, that was a month ago and still no key.patients have to go down hall and down stairs.I think they go up stairs. Staff. Also no call that dr was in surgery and had driven thirty miles.
I don't know where I would be right now without Dr. Aguilar. I had a severely diseased gall bladder with other complications that was totally misdiagnosed by an emergency room doctor. Dr. Aguilar took charge of my care and got me admitted to the hospital. There he figured out exactly what was going on in my upper GI and got other specialists involved to preform the necessary procedures. When it game time for Dr. Aguilar to surgically remove my gall bladder, there were some extreme complications. But while I was on the operating table, Dr. Aguilar stuck with the laparoscopic surgery even though it took several hours longer than normal to remove my gall bladder. The recovery room nurse said any other surgeon would have abandoned the laparoscopic procedure and cut me open to perform the operation the old fashioned way. This would have resulted in a much longer hospital stay and recovery time. This assessment of Dr. Aguilar being an extremely skilled laparoscopic surgeon was reinforced by everybody in the hospital, and another patient I shared a room with whose wife had been a patient of Dr. Aguilar.I can't thank Dr. Aguilar enough for the care he provided when I needed it. I highly, highly recommend him.
I had to wait for almost two hours for my pre-op appointment.Dr. Aguilar completed a surgical procedure and never checked on my condition or talked with my wife who was waiting in the waiting room. Dr. Aguilar had started another surgery without checking on how I was doing so there was no way to speak with him about how the surgery went.I was sent home before I was ready and suffered greatly for it ending up in the emergency room for several hours the evening of the surgery. Dr. Aguilar wanted nothing to do with my post surgery problems. He said to go to emergency and it had nothing to do with him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
