The best Rheumatologist in Georgia. Highly recommended.

I had a 1:40pm appointment and got there 10-15 minutes early per the request. By 2:45pm I still had not seen the PA who I was supposed to see because my doctor is apparently gone for an entire month and the other doctor doesn’t have any availability to see patients for another five months.

Piedmont Physicians Rheumatology - Atlanta Has an excellent group of Rheumatologist that provide outstanding care for their patients. They take the time to connect with their patients, explain options for personalized treatment and stay up to date on all the medications and treatments to ensure proactive and exceptional care for their patients. I would highly recommend this group, and it is more than worth the two hour trip to see some of the best doctors in Atlanta.

Absolutely terrible service. I have been bounced around from specialist to specialist for the past few months. Prescribed serious medications without any doctor following up. Impossible to get an appointment and if you have one, expect it to be pushed back each month. Was supposed to be seen in May, appointment was rescheduled to June, then to July. Now they’ve rescheduled me for late August. Terrible service. After 3 1/2 years I’m leaving this place to be treated with actual care and consideration.

Actually felt like the doctor believed me. Dr Bhawal is nice, though sometimes it feels like she is in a rush. None the less she does seem to take a practical approach for a harder to diagnose subpractice of medicine and I feel she keeps me well informed along the way.

So far so good I have never had someone taken my bloodwork or X-rays and I’ve been dealing with this for 5 years so I guess will see what happens from here. Thank you all so much!

A comedy of errors for nearly two years. Hands down the absolute worst doctor’s office I’ve ever visited regardless of specialization.In brief: exceptionally poor communication and scheduling. Difficult to reach and not respectful of patients’ time. Generally indifferent about your long-term care plan.I ended my relationship with this office today after 2 chaotic years of poor communication and scheduling difficulty. Dr. Javeria Bhawal and her nurse are unclear with content of communication, slow to reply, and generally difficult to reach.My primary doctor originally recommended Dr. Mala Kaul from this practice. I am only a patient of Dr. Bhawal because their receptionist recommended seeing PA James Hunter to get into the office more quickly. Unbeknownst to me (and despite telling the receptionist I wanted to see Dr. Kaul), Mr. Hunter is not Dr. Kaul's PA. They wouldn't let me switch after that first visit.In 2 years of calling the office, someone has only actually answered the phone maybe twice. Communication that must be done with a live human often takes days of phone tag. Appointments are difficult to make, usually only available 1.5 - 2 weeks out from the scheduling date. They also once lost my insurance card. A recent medication switch was challenging due to insurance issues but exponentially exacerbated by their poor and unclear communication with insurance, pharmacies, and me. Absolutely the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a doctor's office right from the first office visit when I was left in the waiting room for over an hour and the nurse told me they "forgot" about me!The final straw was today after arriving to get blood work a month after starting a new medication. This was at the instruction of Dr. Bhawal during our last appointment. The phlebotomist had no orders for blood work, and I was told by Dr. Bhawal's nurse that I was supposed to schedule a follow-up appointment a month after starting the medication, not blood work. This is not what was said to me, and this is not an isolated incident. Even if today was my error, follow-up patient communication is nonexistent. If you expect follow-up reminders, clarification about appointments, etc., you will not receive it until you are hung out to dry because you made an error or forgot a detail of when/how you were supposed to return.To best serve patients, this doctor needs drastic organizational improvement. Answering the phone would be a good start. Today I filed a complaint with Piedmont Hospital regarding all the above information.Please don’t do this to yourselves. In a metro of nearly 6 million people there are many other qualified rheumatologists you can visit. I like to see the best in people and want to believe that this office cares about its patients, but actions speak louder than words. I am far too kind (to my own detriment), so mea culpa for not getting myself out of this situation sooner. I cannot describe the sense of helplessness one feels when completely reliant on someone for help and constantly having to arduously advocate for scheduling, information, and replies that most people would consider customary from a doctor's office. I hope this review helps you avoid a similar situation.

The medical care at this office may be good but I can't say because I couldn't get in to actually see a doctor. The appointment wait time to see a doctor in my particular case was almost two months. Prior to my appointment I was unable to get through via phone and the to voicemail messages I left were not returned just to end up with a phantom cancellation. Considering that two other doctors were awaiting the results of this visit and that I'm in considerable pain, I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated.

I cannot reach anyone over the phone to even make an appointment!!! I need to be seen as soon as possible!

Horrible Physicians with AttitudeI have never met such an Arrogant group of physicians. Some of the nurses have such a serious NASTY attitude. If you hate your job or your employer do the patient's a favor..QUIT. People are sick and dont need your unprofessional , ugly behavior. But what should I expect none of you are attractive. Moreover, the wait time is long, they NEVER answer their phones. They truly act as if the patients are a bother. There are Much Better. CARING, PROFESSIONAL RHEUMATOLOGISTS IN Atlanta. Please save yourself aggravation, time and Gas. Shame on you Rotten physicians..you threw your credo in the trashcan. My PCP referred you but after he looked over my medical records he apologized for such a gross error in judgement. May you ALL get the same piss poor care when you're diagnosed with the MOST Incurable disease
