Piedmont West Surgery Center's Online Review Report Card

I submitted a request for my daughter's breast reduction consultation on May 28th. I received an email on June 8th from Pamela Miller advising to contact the customer service number. We contacted the customer service number and scheduled the appointment for 09/22/21 1015 am. We thought everything was set but ohhhh no we were mistaken. We drove 3 1/2 hours from Columbia, SC to Atlanta to find out her appointment was canceled because she tried to contact us and couldn't leave a voice-mail (even though she had my email address). We changed numbers 2 weeks prior to the appointment due to a stalker. If they knew the doctor had to change her schedule they could have emailed me to save me a triip. They offered an appointment at 0345pm but we both had to be to work at 5pm in Columbia,SC and couldn't call out. We were completely inconvenienced and drove 7 hours for nothing. My daughter is completely disappointed and so am I. We waited almost 4 months for an appointment my daughter was so excited to have just to be let down. Customer service definitely could have been better.

I have to say the staff and nurses were all so wonderful to me. I had an outpatient surgery and of course was nervous. From check in to OR prep they took great care of me. RN Jessica, RN Coda, RN Melinda, PA Henry and Dr Lichtenstein (anesthesiologist). All had great bedside manner and answered all my questions. Thank you!

We were amazed at how easy it was to get into the surgical center. We live on the south side of Atlanta and were worried about traveling north for surgery but were pleasantly surprised at just how convenient the drop off area is to get to. The doctors and staff, especially the surgeon, Dr. Susan Jordan were highly professional and their “bed-side manner” was incredible. The nurses and Dr. Jordan kept my wife updated on my progress while she waited in the parking deck (thanks COVID) and I was treated like I was the only patient there. We highly recommend accepting the option to use this surgery center when available, especially if you live south of Atlanta.

Fantastic surgery experience at Piedmont Surgery Center West. From the front desk staff to the nurses & anesthesiologists, I felt like I received the best care possible. If I ever need another surgery, I hope it can be done here.

Professional, courteous, friendly and empathic!!

Such a great staff at the Piedmont West Surgery Center on Howell Mill. I found intake nurse, Gabrielle to be friendly and accommodating to my needs prior to speaking withthe anesthesiologist. Dr. Sing, the anesthesiologist and his kind assistant were both engaging and advised me what to expect pre and post-op with an objective but friendly manner. My surgeon, Dr. Joseph Mims maintained an excellent overall demeanor that was reassuring, knowledgeable and pleasant. I am thankful for his fine expertise. The discharge nurse, Valencia, thoroughly advised all post-op Home Care do's and don'ts along with my caretaker, answering ALL questions. Good going Valencia! One suggestion, however...i found the front desk person to be only objective, not friendly. In all due fairness I must hasten to add that objectivity does foster professionalism. She well deserves that credit; however, good pre-op customer care should be evenly tempered with a simple smile and friendly attitude. Afterall, this was my very first surgery. The irony of the front desk experience is that there is an indiscreet block sign right where the patient signs in that intimates the patient starting the day with a smile. Maybe she didn't read & heed the sign intended for the patients? Fortunately for me, the other staff members made my experience a very, very good one. Well done Piedmont West Surgery Center, now THAT'S how it's done! 😊😊😊

My wife had Surgery there (9-25-18) and she found the most loving, compassionate, and caring people she has ever experienced from the front desk woman who checked us in to the post operative nurse who walked us out. The nurses , the anesthesiologist, everyone from top to bottom were caring and met and far exceeded our every expectation. 100% the way Health Care providers should treat their patients. God Bless each and every one of you.
