List of Shepherd Center's Reviews
My limited experience so far was not only high quality from a care perspective, but also extremely encouraging and collaborative.
Today marks the one year anniversary of my stroke. If not for the amazing care at the Sheppard Center, I could be a bedridden, paralyzed patient in one of our local nursing homes. My true, heartfelt thanks to the doctors and all the providers at the Shepherd Center! I am eternally grateful for the Doctor that decided to do one more surgery, the Physical Therapists that ignored my pleas to skip the workouts and of course, the nurses that did so much every day without a hint of complaining! Thank you all for returning me to my wife and my life. May God bless each and every one of you!!
My fiancé recently was diagnosed with multiple Sclerosis in February 2021. They are amazing here, every person you pass in the hall asks how you’re doing smiles and is genuine. They made us feel really comfortable there and trusting! Thank y’all so much for helping with his life!
Former employee from last year. I have good and bad things to say about the shepherd center. I did not feel welcomed as a new employee they say its a good place to work which is correct but its the ppl that work there. As from what I was told and as I saw myself they the put family first , patient second and staff last. Tiffany the nurse manager for abi me her attitude and behavior is not meant for leadership. The environment was very political and no one was willing to help the techs out. No communication between therapy and nursing staff. I was happy to experience what I had a chance too but overall the staff there was not welcoming .
My daughter was admitted with a traumatic brain injury. She spent 5 weeks at the facility. She received amazing care from her Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, and Nurse Techs. They were patient with her and adjusted her meds as needed. After 2 weeks in the facility I got my daughter back. The healing of the brain and the care from the facility helped her to heal.We are truly blessed that someone from Grady referred her .
I wouldn't recommend Shepherd Center to anyone especially someone with TBI, I got slammed down on a bed 3 times they pulled me by my legs arms, they also made me seize took me off my anti-seizure medicine with a fresh TBI. I have tried to report this several times & you can't report anything here.
It is a great place I was there about 2 months in 2018 I had a stroke I was 33
I was in a horrific motorcycle accident October 8, 2011.I was not expected to live much less be anything more than a wheelchair bound man the rest of my life.I was blessed to be a patient at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Ga.It’s a brain and spinal cord rehabilitation center. It’s an amazing place.I call it Gods workshop because I’m a miracle.
On May 4th, 2021, the Program Manager of the Shepherd Center, contacted me towards the end of my work day. I answered the call despite being at work. She had left a message the day before and I had intended to respond of course. Unfortunately, the tone of the call was unexpected. It was very unprofessional and unjust such that it could result in official legal action. Hearsay of a physician's reported claims and a case manager that was reportedly present took place. In the end, it seemed as a barrage of attacks against a patient. Amazingly, I was never advised, questioned or even encouraged of the current COVID vaccinations. I was in fact informed with pleasure that the communication would only take a minute.Amazingly, I was informed by another professional only a week ago that the vaccine and medications could not be taken together and would have to be separated in different time spans. Shall we call a couple of senators given that "certain" members of Shepherd desire to place clients at risk? Or shall we add there is discontent of what was reported in multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com on April 7, 2021. Apparently, Tecfidera, Gilenya and OCREVUS are losing favor as switch therapies? Can we work towards helping clients who may be in fear of harming their bodies with injections that may only add to the destructive tendencies of MS? Is this not a condition without a cure? I did question the monetary benefit that could have been the focal point of this negative discussion and while I have already faced a set of challenges because of this illness, I will also speak on behalf of all MS patients regardless of which direction they have selected in their medical care. Prayers to you all ....

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
