Walden Behavioral Care - Dunwoody Clinic's Online Review Report Card

I was at Walden 1 year ago where management and majority of the staff treated me with dignity and respect. I had months of success following my stay. Back again 2 weeks ago, with new challenges and hopes to get further help, I was pushed out abruptly yesterday, (due to insurance??) This has never happened to me before. Ever. It was inadequate and insufficient communication between Walden and me. I have little to no respect for the new director and her newly appointed male “lead” MHC. They palein comparison to the help and careI received one year ago. The unprofessionalism and complete lack of compassion in these two in particular was in concert with the mammoth amount of disrespect and condescension received. Unacceptable, and perceived as power tripping and control is what I personally observed and experienced throughout my two week stay. An outright abuse of power and control. I had an ink pen wagged in my face, accusations of going around Getavious, a lead MHC of which had no knowledge of, to speak with another MHC counselor with whom I was comfortable with, and then threatening me with write-ups. Others having said they supported me 100%. Having been to Sierra Tucson and Talbott twice, where not only the professionalism and help were beyond excellence and life-changing, have I ever been treated the way I was at Walden to the tune of $1,000/day. I will commend the rest of the staff for their compassion. I was notified (half way into my treatment) Monday, that my insurance was cutting me off abruptly. Not only has that never, ever happened to me, but having management relay this information a few hours before being notified that I had to leave was medically and ethically irresponsible. Ms Shock even said my labs were off and I was clearly shaken. I never heard back from her Monday, upon discharge, when I had no other option other than to leave and still haven’t heard from her to this day. I was discharged with no perceived or concrete plan in place whatsoever, and had no sufficient time to solidify these. They literally threw me to the wolves unexpectedly, vulnerable and afraid, and couldn’t seem to care less.I had also asked for a grievance form after being confronted by Getavious. I was told these weren’t a part of Walden’s protocol packet Shocked, I will pursue through Ombudsman. Guaranteed.Terri Hutto

I am a mental health counselor with Georgia State University and have had a wonderful, collaborative, exceptional experience with Walden staff. They are warm and caring individuals who have prioritized community collaboration and provide evidence based treatment to a diverse range of individuals. The clients I have referred to Walden have described great experiences and have made solid improvements in treatment. I look forward to continued collaboration with Walden!

There's absolutely no excuse for the unprofessional treatment displayed tonight. Not only was our group forced to accommodate strangers, in private sections that we paid for, but also members of our group were forced to leave the "establishment" for complaining about the grossly inconvenient situation. On top of that, we were extorted into having to buy additional bottle services AFTER we had paid all sections in full with bottle service. Someone needs to be held accountable.

They do not treat men

ACE is just lovely. You will feel overwhelmed at first, but fight through it - that's what ACE is for. Wonderful staff, great program, and the right amount of personal attention you need to beat ED.
