List of Augusta University Medical Center's Reviews
One of the worst hospitals in Augusta Georgia, elderly abuse and cover up the wrong they have done to families who have trusted them to treat their love ones with dignity and respect. They will call elderly protection on family when they want to keep your love one in an abusive care situation.
I got a appointment Tuesday. I'll post more after I complete my appointment.
The patient portal to My chart online system transfer, has got to be the most unprofessional, poorly managed operation I've ever seen. Getting in touch with the correct department is nearly impossible. God forbid you do get through to the correct department, because the people there can't help either. It should not be a patients responsibility to track down blood work, to oversee clerical errors and convince people that you aren't insane. Half of us don't have the mental health to do all of this phone tag run around bs. Holy moly
I had to go down to pick up a copy of disc for a Dr office that I was told was my responsibility to do and I had to pay for it which wasn’t the problem it was the fact that the referring doctor had said there would be three that I would need but when I told the representative at the desk they were rude and argumentative and it’s not posted any where that they don’t accept cash so again she got rude about the fact that I tried to pay with cash. At this point I took out my debit card and said well here you go and paid for it if you don’t know you don’t know! No need for rudeness
Do not go here for any type of cancer screening/care. I was referred here for my MRIs for BC and they only have one radiologist on staff to read them meaning your MRI goes into an endless pile with no timeline. This is irresponsible and can be deadly to someone if it's invasive cancer. They said results would be released to my Dr and the online MYCHART portal within 48 hours over a week ago. Now they don't know when the results will be read and released because their one radiologist is on vacation for a week.
Since Wellstar took over, the call center is impossible!! Just trying to make an appointment is incredibly frustrating. You can't talk to the department, or nurses directly, so you are forced to go through their call center, which takes forever! I've been transferred to multiple people, only to find out that they are booked up for over a year and they can't even put me on a call list for an appointment. This is ridiculous!! I keep calling in hopes of a cancelation, but the hold times are extremely long and their "call back" system claiming you won't lose your place on line, is a joke! Currently, I've been on hold for 30 minutes.
I am currently pregnant with twins and recently transferred my care here because I was told there was a wonderful labor and delivery/women’s health department. The doctor who has taken over my care here is amazing. However this facility needs to work on providing better patient support. I was told I had an appointment, but given no clear guidance on where to go and how to get to my appointment. The directions provided on the answering service for Womens Health is apparently incorrect, and having to walk from one medical office building to another when you are 32 weeks pregnant with twins is very frustrating. However, when we finally arrived at the correct location for the Women’s Health area, we were sent to three different areas on the 5th floor before someone actually saw my name and could check me in. Along with all of this, there is no one available to communicate with patients on the phone. When you call the Women’s Health number, there is not a physical person to speak with. Everything is automated and takes you to these different departments, but NO ONE actually answers the phone. You just remain on hold. I have no idea how I’m even suppose to contact my doctor or her nurse if I have a question or concern. Ultimately, I am disappointed because I sincerely expected more from an institution that is so highly spoken of across the state.
I would look elsewhere if possible. The administrative hurdles necessary to just get an appointment is arduous and necessarily beaurocratic. Especially for a patient in need of care, the hospital does not care.
Took my granddaughter here because she broke her arm. The ER doctor was so good with her and the team was excellent. I think people need to understand that you should only go to the ER if it's a true emergency and those with negative reviews were probably not urgent needs and could've waited to be seen at a prompt care facility.
Very upset at the customer service of the person who answered my call about a prescription refill at their Aiken Dermatology office. When I first called at 4 she told me to call back at 5 and at that time a doctor would renew my prescription. Then when I followed her instructions, she gave me the run-around about how a doctor would not do that, and that I would need an appointment. If she had told me that from the start and given me the number for the Aiken office, I could have taken care of it at the start, before it closed at 4:15. Instead, now I have to wait until Monday to do that, and she got pissy at me when I called back for following her instructions.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
