Joseph Hooper's Online Review Report Card

I took my 95 year old aunt along with my 92 year old mother on the coldest and windy day of the year only to find the office closed. They did not tell anyone they would be closed. The next day we returned only for the so called Dr not to look at my aunt and told us that assisted living doesn’t administer medicine to their patients. He also said they were very expensive. How dare he assume we could not pay! We were very, very dissatisfied with him and the entire office! Don’t plan on calling because they will not answer the phone! Never again!!!! There are to many other great Dr to choose from in our area! Don’t settle for him!

I have been a patient of Dr Hooper's since 2007. He treated my parents as well. I moved to Columbia many years ago and still travel back to use him as my primary physician.

Dr Hooper has always been my doctor for many years. I was clearly aware of his sarcastic rudeness but just passed it off. But this last time I seen him was when I was seriously ill with extreme case of bronchitis, double ear infection and a sinus infection all at same time. Being already partially deaf, both my ears were clogged to the max and being deaf I could hardly hear anything, he got rude as crap with me cuz I couldn’t hear him and made me feel like I was mentally retarded. He def does not have that bed side compassionate manner about him. But he is a decent doctor, I won’t give him 5 stars but Iv seen worst and just chose to change doctors.

I had the unfortunate bad timing to telephone when he was answering after hours calls. He was rude sarcastic and scolding totally unhelpful and made me sorry I bothered him. Beware if this man.

He's been a very good doctor to me my wife my mother and my mother-in-law for several years we're very happy with him!

I have him recorded explaining the hippa violations he committed against me. He claims that people called him and said things about me and he discussed my history with them. MAJOR hippa violation. He doesn’t even know the difference between bupropion (Wellbutrin) and buprenorphine (suboxone) He tried to tell me I was on suboxone and was an addict. I don’t take such a thing. He wouldn’t even right the scripts he had been giving me for years. What a quack shiester .He picked the wrong one to mess with today. He will see legal action. He will get what he deserves.

I cannot think of a better Physician in the Augusta area than this man. He was warm and friendly, held his ground when he had to, (I sometimes think I know more!!) But when the chips were down,, He was there to promote the best health care possible. Do I like him? No, I love ❤️ him and there should be more like him, you want care or conversation? Best doctor ever!

Dr Hooper has been my dr since I was 17 yrs. Him and his staff are amazing and very professional.

Dr. Hooper has been the worst doctor that I and my daughter have had in our lives. I've been going to the central office and a patient of his for over 4 years now. I have tried to dismiss his rush fullness and disrespectful comments because the rest of the staff has always been very nice and courteous. On a recent wellness visit for my 7 year old was the most rushed I have ever felt and barely able to get my daughters allergy medication refilled before he ran out the door. I then asked him about my last visit which I thought was a wellness visit but it was not treated as that. I had recently had got out of the hospital and needed paperwork for him to fill out due to my hospital stay for work purposes. I took a urine test for a UTI check but he told me that it was pointless since I had my menstrual cycle at the same time. When I asked him about this he states that was what the visit was for to treat a UTI and refill my ADDERALL which I never received results for my UTI nor do I go to doctor Hooper for my adhd medications. When I said this he got very upset and quickly told me he would just write it off and I can be seen elsewhere going forward before quickly walking out of the room. I was so shocked and humiliated. I have filed a formal complaint and I am currently waiting to hear back from the office manager. I will be switching practices regardless and I pray that his awful demeanor and bedside manner catch up with him. He should not be a doctor for children or adults since he rushes so quickly through visits and could potentially miss health issues or concerns.
