List of Mary Barker's Reviews
I had been to three different drs that had just written me off as fat and ignored my Symptoms. Dr baker took me seriously and I found out I had PCOS because she actually took time to have me do diagnostic testing. She is great! I highly recommend her!
I have seen Dr. Barker twice & both times she has really listened to me & took a lot of time with me & answered all my questions. She is very nice & seems concerned abt me as a patient & a person.
I felt so rushed and she wasn’t listening to me or paying attention to what i was saying but just going off of the chart that was from a previous visit. I would not recommend a doctor who isn’t concerned about the well being of their patients.
Throughout my appointment she was talking about very subjective, personal opinions about sex and its meanings/ implications such as that it is "the most vulnerable position a woman can allow herself to be in," and that "for women it's emotional but it's physical for men." She once used the phrase "give herself to a man." (She also kept the conversation very hetero in spite of me having mentioned that I also have relationships with women.) I don't personally agree with these views as I have strictly worked with myself to overcome these, I feel outdated, beliefs which have caused me insecurities in the past. This bothered me, as it brought up those old feelings and made me question myself. I don't feel that a doctor should discuss things in such a subjective manner with patients and present them as if this were the objective truth. However, this was not what I found most inappropriate about Dr. Barker's attitude. When I expressed me concerns regarding my sex drive and issues with vaginal dryness, she chalked this up entirely to her assessment (reached after knowing me for less than 15minutes- this was my first appointment with her) that these issues mean that I'm "just not ready to be having sex." Okay, I'm 19. I have had and enjoyed sex in the past. I admit that I have certain mental hesitations about physical intimacy, but that is not remotely for lack of desire or sense of readiness. The fact that this doctor could not offer a single potential explanation that was biologically based for vaginal dryness (to clarify- not only during sex but at all times and regularly accompanied by itching) was irresponsible, and to make such a pointed, subjective, and frankly unfounded conclusion about my "readiness" to be having sex was frankly out of bounds, as well as irresponsible. Even if in her heart she truly believed that judgement was accurate, it does not constitute medical advice nor is it her place to say.
Absolutely love Dr. Kidd. She has a great passion for her job. Been with her for years.
Dr. Kidd is very personable and takes her time to go over and explain everything. She discusses all of your options and encourages you to provide your opinion. I was seen on time and everyone in the office was extremely professional. I was very impressed with my first visit and have already recommended her to a family member who is looking for a GYN.
Dr. Kidd is awesome. Sweet and understanding. I would highly recommend her to everyone.
I had gone to Dr. Mulliniks for many years. After he retired I made an appointment with Dr. Kidd. I want to tell you that she is one of the nicest Doctors I know. So glad to be a patient of hers.
I had 3 appts with Dr Kidd. The 1st & 2nd appt she ordered 2 tests. She sent the results via MyChart.WellStar, but left no notes regarding what results meant. I emailed Dr. Kidd asking her what results meant. She never responded. I called the office & asked for Dr Kidd to call with results interpretation & was told she does not call pts. that I would have to make another appt & pay to have results interpreted to me. 3rd visit was for a Papsmear. She lost the Papsmear. Worst OBGYN experience ever
I did not receive a confirmation call or email in advance of my appointment which seemed odd. Overall, I didn't find the front desk staff very friendly. I had a considerably long wait but enjoyed Dr. Kidd. She was professional, engaging and I could tell she would listen if I had issues to talk through (I was only in for a check-up). I will return to this office and hope for a better experience on the front end of my appointment next time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
