List of Southcoast Health's Reviews
Every visit they want a urine sample but won't tell you why even if you ask. So I looked up my labcorp account and they were testing for illegal drugs. Of course it was negative but I feel like that is an invasion of my rights when they refuse to tell you why they are testing you. Also they didn't have a reason to be testing for that. They also get mad if you refuse to give them a urine sample.
The absolute worst office staff. Dr Murphy has been our doctor for years and we love and trust him. His office staff is horrible. Still waiting on lab results from a week ago. Finally had to make an appointment to get to,talk to someone about routine medication refills for aspirin. Can’t get anyone to answer the phone. So we are looking for a new pcp after 12 years😔
I’m hoping I’m posting on the correct page. My husband called them last Monday due to concern he had Covid. He was told he would have a virtual visit on Tuesday . The dr (dr Hightower) was late for that visit. He asked my husband what was wrong. My husband told him his symptoms. He said okay we have to get you tested. That was the visit. He couldn’t go get tested until the next morning because they don’t test after 1:30. They said 2 days for results. Finally after not getting a call by Friday afternoon my husband called and was told the results were there but that the dr/nurse was busy and would call later. Of course no call. Now it’s the weekend. So finally my husband calls Monday gets to the “nurse “ who says oh yes it’s Covid. My husband asks about prescriptions. The nurse says well if you have symptoms. He said I have had symptoms. They then tell him he needs a virtual visit to get prescriptions! He also is told he has to start his quarantine from the date of his positive test. We know he had it days before that! So now we have to pay for 2 fake virtual visits. My husband has to add 3 days to his quarantine which will also cost us a pretty penny in lost wages. Not to mention medicine he should have had days ago. His virtual visit is 1:30 today. I’m sorry but this is not the first time it has been like this with this practice. It has only been even worse since Covid. They only care that you “quarantine “ they don’t care about you. It already feels like you are a leper with the reaction to this virus in general. It also feels like another great excuse for drs to take your money and move on to the next one. For the record I have been, as well as my husband quarantined for 2 solid weeks tomorrow. I have had symptoms one day longer than him. I didn’t bother even trying to go to a dr. Again I hope I have the right page if not I apologize.
poor service all around too impersonal and only in it for the billing. admin staff, drs will look at their ipad/computer screen during your whole visit. no eye contact, nothing to show they consider you a human being. just a bill and what a bill if you have private insurance.
I have been waiting since March on my refund. I have the dates and times of each call and whom I spoke with... They all say it is being processed, and it never has been. I am still waiting. I paid immediately at time of service and you still haven't processed my refund since March.... even with me calling.
Unlike some other doctor's offices in town, South Coast requires (currently) everyone to wear a mask. This indicates a basic understanding of public health and consideration for medically fragile patients. I cannot thank them enough for being consistent about mask use in the midst of many conflicting directives. It is a basic patient safety issue and they get it. Thank you.
I had a great experience today. I had an 11:45 imaging appointment. I arrived at 11:30 as instructed and was out the door at 11:48. 👍
Dr. Khan is amazing! He goes out of his way to be accomodating to work schedules and genuinely listens to his patients. I feel like I'm a partner in my health care with him. His staff is also fabulous. Most offices these days make it so difficult to get access to your physician when you need advice. Erin has been so helpful, and has gone above and beyond to help sort our insurance denials and appeals. I appreciate her so much. I highly recommend Dr. Khan.
Worst experience of my life. After being sick all weekend was told to come in I would see an NP. After getting there having to sit outside the vehicle go to an online portal pay my $75 co-pay then wait another 45 minutes to get a phone call and be told there’s no licensed Georgia medical person able to help me. The fake news on WTOC at the outbreak of this virus it’s a lie! I wish tree it was zero respect and zero concern. My husband called Nicole Dunn and we still have not received a call back. When did I mention I have been a patient of this place since all of my adult life! Worst place ever
You could have Dr Bannout not make us sit in his waiting room DURING A PANDEMIC!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
