Dr. Johnston fixed my left knee where no other surgeon could. He is an amazing Surgeon and Human.

1 hour past my appointment time I was called from the lobby to an exam room. The doctor gave me 5 minutes of his time, after keeping me waiting over an hour. This practice books appointments every 10 minutes. I did not feel listened to or cared about. The entire practice seems only interested in funneling as many patients through as quickly as possible, to maximize profits, not caring or healing. I will never go back.

He is always late for appointments by an hour or more. He knows about this issue, his practice manager knows about this issue, and they haven’t fixed it.

So, this was my first visit and I thought that this Doctor would be okay...well, I was to hasty in that opinion. What bothered me most was what happened the next day. After receiving a cortisone shot in my left shoulder I woke up the next day with the same issue only worst the pain was horrible! I called his office early the next morning and explained what was going on. They took the message and even put Urgent on it ( or so they said). I was told that he was in surgery but would most definitely call me back. I eventually had to call again ( still in pain@ about 3:30 p.m.) Well guess what? He never even bothered to call me nor did he care! So, if this is how he treats his patients to begin with there is no way that I would trust my condition with such an arrogant not caring nor giving a flip type of doctor! I guess it's all about the money for Dr. Johnston. Oh well, better to see what you're dealing with at the beginning!

Today, I underwent my second ACL/ meniscus surgery with Dr. Johnston. It was the same surgery I had 5 years ago but on my other knee. Being a repeat patient speaks volumes in of itself. Dr. Johnston has excellent bedside manner but more importantly he is attentive, extremely thorough and an expert in his field. While I was fortunate to grow up in a family of skilled athletes we were all cursed with terrible knees and joints. I have years of experience with the best to the worst orthos; if you are looking for the best look no further than Dr. Johnston. His entire team are professionals, experts in newest techniques & technologies, and surprisingly always accessible, either via phone or in office.

The most painful experience In 2013 I suffered a spiral break to my right ankle and fibula. Dr Richard Johnston performed surgery and sutured the incision with staples. Although his practice advises patients of the use of nurse practitioners, it was an untrained, non-certified “office administrator” who removed the staples. It was the most painful experience of my life...and of the following 6 surgeries over the next 5 years, including a cervical fusion. Although, undiagnosed at the time, I developed RSD in my right ankle immediately after my fall. RSD is ‘over the top’ painful on its own, but imagine pulling (10) staples from an area of your body that already has heightened sensitivity and pain. I screamed out in excruciating pain after the snip of the 1st staple. I asked to be put under anesthesia, for the remaining (9) staples. I was told they cannot offer that for this process and this “office administrator” continued to pull out the remaining staples, despite my screams being heard throughout the entire office. I was advised to not pursue a medical malpractice claim because of my personal injury lawsuit, but this unbelievably painful experience and the way I was treated afterwards has bothered me every day since. I urge current and future patients to reconsider Dr Richard Johnston and his practice for any orthopedic procedures.

I think Dr Johnston is great. I’ve been going to him for chronic knee pain/issues for 20 years. He explains all my options thoroughly and never makes me feel rushed! Keep up the great work!

One of the very best doctors you could find. Dr. Johnston is very precise, and does everything to perfection. He has performed surgery on my shoulder, and both knees so far, and I could not have asked for better results. Highly recommend him.
