Worst Nicu in the state of Georgia! Nurse manager Rita Reddish make excuses for her nurses instead of addressing concerns and complaints!
Don't go no matter what, have a ton of hidden bills they send you after the fact especially in the ER. Will destroy your credit score for refusing to pay extra hidden charges.
So I can respect the fact that they've tightened restrictions on visitation due to Covid. what I cannot accept or even respect is that my child is stuck in the NICU and they will only allow ONE PARENT PER DAY to visit. We live in the same household. Sleep in the same bed. We kiss and share food. How in the ever loving tuck can you say that we can't both visit our newborn on the same day? if I would've known the hospital was that kind of stupid, I would've gone to MACH. Also, why the blatant sexism? Why can the wife have physical contact with the child when the husband cannot?
Both of the facilities my mother has been in hospitalized in in the last two weeks(Piedmont North Cols, Ga and Piedmont Midtown, Cols, Ga) have overlooked her, and overlooked me asking for help with basic things such as ice, bedding changes and assisting her (my mother) with bathroom usage has been overlooked and ignored for HOURS. Now, let me say I know COVID is overfilling the hospitals so before I am jumped on I will say I am incredibly patient. I sit here and wait with my mother for sometimes hours before someone ANYONE comes to the room to check on us. The nurses and even the tech assistants or not fully to blame. They are understaffed and overworked...I blame whoever is runnings these hospitals as a whole. If my mother (who is in the early stages of dementia) is any indication of the treatment you will receive when you're there, I implore you to go elsewhere...or treat yourself...you'd probably be better off in the long run.
The billing here is terrible. We asked for an estimate before an important, but fairly minor, procedure. We got an estimate beforehand. They took our insurance information, and said they checked with the insurance for a cost estimate. They told us that our patient responsibility would be zero. Instead, we were charged over $2000. Don't count on any financial assistance from the hospital, either. Their website says you will be considered for financial assistance if your income is less than 4x the poverty level. Our income is considerably less than this, so I applied. I didn't hear back for over a month, and the application was denied. Apparently, if you have any insurance (no matter how bad the insurance) they assess your income completely differently. Because we had insurance, our income had to be below $35,000 for a family of 5 in order to qualify for any financial help. Worse still, they will only consider a 1 year payment plan, maximum, no matter what your balance is, or what state your finances are in. If you want a longer payment plan, you have to apply for a medical loan with a company called Curae. (You can look up the reviews for this company, they aren't good). Most hospitals will allow you to pay over time, without interest, but not this one! Be prepared to pay a lot. This hospital is an unforgiving creditor, it's over-priced, and their estimates are wildly inaccurate. That being said, the nurses and doctors were great- attentive and knowledgeable, it's just the billing side that will get you. If you have a choice, though, don't go here unless you are financially secure. You will have to pay a lot, either through large monthly payments, or through paying large amounts of interest to an outside medical loan shark.
The Niceness of every one.
not even busy and treat people like crap still!!
I know this is different times with Covid 19. My brother in law was in a car accident wednesday and was taken to Piedmont Midtown. The drs and nurses have been awful at contacting my sister and letting her know what is going on. This morning she called to check on him and the nurse said they were taking him down for surgery. This was the first my sister had heard of this. They didn't call and tell her when he was out of surgery or how the surgery went. Now it is 9 pm and she still hasn't heard from the dr. I know everyone is busy but my sister needs to know whats going on! Piedmont doesn't have to have permission to do surgery? They can just do whatever they want? Piedmont needs to up there game and do a much better job of contacting the family. It is very hard on my sister not being able to be at the hospital with her husband and then not even being contacted! This is unacceptable!
Was referred to piedmont endocrinology where I waited over an hour to be seen for an appointment and then was rudely told by the doctor that "I'm just looking for something to be wrong" after I explained that I was told by two other doctors that my symptoms are caused by my condition. The doctor did not review my previous doctor notes or MRI scans. Unsatisfactory.if I could give zero stars I would. Do not recommend.
Had a scheduled colonoscopy with my gastro doc because of my heart condition. Check-in, even with the ongoing COVID-19 precautions was speedy and efficient. The ladies at surgery center check in were extremely friendly. The intake nurse, Jeff, was personable. Making sure I was comfortable. And he had a great sense of humor. Lowell, what can we say about this anesthesiologist? I could just listen to him speak all day. He was very professional, even though I kept him laughing and making him go off on rabbit trails. Can't say too much about the procedure room staff, cause I wasn't conscious but for just a little bit. They were kind and patient. The recovery nurse was very kind. Though I don't recall her name. Very helpful as I came out of the fog.I've never had a bad experience with this hospital, though this was my first time as a patient. My family has been there several times. You have good people on your staff. Make sure they are taken care of. We, the patient, need them! Thank you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
