List of Gwinnett Internal Medicine Associates's Reviews
Dr. R. Desai is the best! Very patient and knowledgeable.
One of the best doctor offices around
The most welcoming Doctor's office ever!!! Everyone is extremely nice and friendly!!! Amy Mahaley, NP was extremely wonderful!!! What a great experience!!!
Pros: Great group of doctors. Love my doctor a lot. Cons:They are too slow. They are not the only ones with busy schedules. Last time I went they saw me an hour and 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. They need to fix this.
I will be generous and give them two stars since my mom goes here and has had a lot of success. However, I have not. First and foremost, let's get a few things clear. I went in due to constant exhaustion and a possible MRSA growth on my finger. WELL, first, my finger was never swabbed but, everything else was checked. I saw Dr. Kesavan a few weeks ago. First, I was FALSELY sent to the ER for a heart condition that I don't even have. Secondly, when given results of my labs I was told to "stop eating donuts" SERIOUSLY?!? I'm a vegetarian and have Celiac Disease so, donuts aren't on top of that. Also, very disrespectful and unprofessional. Thirdly, I was told that I would have to have many (unlikely unnecessary) tests by the same woman who told me to stop eating donuts. I was given NO information about these tests- just that I MIGHT have Diabetes and Hepatitis (despite being tested for Diabetes on multiple occasions and having no reason to be tested for hepatitis). I later found out through my mom that one lasts TWO HOURS and the other involves the use of an ultrasound, which makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I have heard that the other doctors are alright but, overall, pretty awful experience.
I saw Dr. Kesavan and it was a wonderful experience. The front office and nurses were very nice and cooperative. I will refer patients to this office.
I see Dr. Kesavan and although she does tend to order tests often, she is very nice. The front office staff is horrible. I have called on several occasions and was made to feel like I was an inconvenience. The phone is constantly busy no matter what time of day I call. I was on hold for several minutes once, only to be disconnected. The nurses and Physicians Assistants are very nice. I once waited for 45 minutes to see a doctor and mine was the only car in the parking lot!
I saw Dr. Kesavan and the first appointment was ok- not good but not bad. However, she is EXTREMELY cautious- meaning sent me for tests and evaluations that weren't needed. She also referred me to get a mammogram after performing a 2 minute pap and breast check. It was so quick, impersonal, "cold", it was the worst yearly exam I've ever had. The mammogram did detect some suspicious abnormalities but after a 2nd one and an US, turned out to be nothing. Anyway, a month later I got a bill for $420 for the initial mammo. My insurance said because I was under 40 (I'm 38) it wasn't covered unless the doctor writes the referral as she had seen or found something specific or I had a family history. So, I called to see if she would send the correct referral and her office refused. So I said "why would she refer me if she didn't see anything specific, she must have felt something". But again, the office refused so now I'm stuck with a $420 bill for radiology and it's all because she didn't put a code on the form and apparently refuses to do so. Obviously, she likes to jack up the bills for insurance, hospitals and patients.
Horrible experience. My appointment was at 420 pm. I had to leave work early to get there on time. I doesn't see the doctor until 540! I could have stayed at work, not left early and still would have been early for my appointment. Never going back!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
