Jerry Marlin's Online Review Report Card

We met Dr. Marlin in the hospital after my husband had a seizure. Dr. Marlin was straightforward, explaining that he had a brain bleed and would need a craniotomy. He said the results did not always turn out as well as people hope for but that the procedure needed to be done to prevent other seizures. My husband is an optimist so he had no fear of the outcome. He has no negative effects from the surgery. Dr. Marlin was very pleased with the results. He was even able to get off the anti-seizure medication after just a few months. He continues to do very well and we are forever grateful for the excellent care Dr. Marlin provided.

Dr. Marlin did surgery on me this past week and it has been a God send for sure. I can't thank he and his staff enough.

In 2017, Dr. Martin fixed my back. #3 and 4 installed a Coflex Clip. I was back on the golf course in 2 months

Wonderful bedside manner! Very professional and he doesn't do more than what is needed just to make money. One little bone spur removed from my neck and I could instantly feel my hands again! Now my hubby wants him to some surgery for him. I'd trust him with my life!

Dr. Marlin was to do an ACDF at C4-C5. I had completed the myelogram and returned to set up the surgery. In his office, his attitude changed. He was making excuses for why the surgery was too complex for him. I was in desperate shape and already drawing social security disability. I was hoping to be able to return to work after surgery. At the end of the appointment, he hit me in the back of the neck 4 or 5 times fast. I screamed in agony. After a few minutes of recovering, I noticed he had left the exam room. He was in his office on his computer. I said, why did you do that? He said I wasn't trying to hurt you. I left with him saying I should get a job and stop complaining. He is not competent to perform complex spine surgery. I'm sure I'm not the only patient he has hit. I had surgery and it went very well with a competent surgeon in Dallas. I hope no one has to deal with his incompetence and sorry attitude again. He is dangerous and uncaring.

Dr. Marlin performed a fusion in my neck 15 years ago with complete success. He just recently operated on a ruptured disc in my lower back. Both surgeries went extremely well. He investigates the source of you pain thoroughly. He has a terrific bedside manner and cares deeply about his patients. He has operated on my husband and my father. We all think he “hung the moon”! We are grateful for Dr. Marlin.

Dr. Marlin performed a craniotomy on my father. He saved his life. He has great at explaining everything to our family. He was kind and compassionate.

As someone not receiving care from Doctor Marlin, I am sad to say I cannot leave a good review. My grandpa is in the hospital for minor strokes that have been occurring and he has dementia. I was not at all pleased with the care I witnessed from Doctor Marlin and I hope he reconsiders his actions when working with elder people. I care deeply for my family and I will not tolerate such care whatsoever from anyone ESPECIALLY a licensed physician who has many years of schooling under their belt. Patient care is, and should be, any caretaker or physician's number one priority regardless of any circumstance. My grandpa was on the verge of tears after being ridiculed by Doctor Marlin after not being able to complete a verbal task that he could not mentally handle due to his dementia. Marlin, being a neurosurgeon and obtaining my grandpa's charts/stats, should've considered the fact of my grandpa's state before attempting to implement even more hasteful observations. Doctor Marlin's impatience and lack of proper manners towards the older, slower generations should not be tolerated in any environment. I'm sure Doctor Marlin has performed great work on numerous individuals, but he failed me and the care of my beloved grandpa.

This is the rudest, condescending doctor I have ever in my life of 74 years encountered. He could possibly be bi-polar from the reviews I have read. He seemed to immediately hate me from the time I hobbled into his office with my daughter. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THE WAY HE DID ME. BEWARE FOLKS! After asking me some stupid questions, like "Do you know where you are?" Yes, Dallas. "Do you know what day it is?" I answered correctly. "Do you know who the President of the U. S. is?" Well, yes, Donald Trump. "Do you know who the Vice President is?" Yes, Pence. On and on and very condescending. My daughter said after we left his office that she could see the steam coming out my ears. He ended up telling me to go back to the surgeon in Tyler who did my first back fusion surgery, that he wasn't interested in taking my case. Later I was billed for a co-pay I didn't owe. After three messages with his billing department, they finally agreed that had not filed my insurance correctly. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Dr Marlin has performed three surgeries on my spine. I have complete confidence in his competence. Though you may wait for your appointment in his waiting room, once it is your turn you get 100 % of his attention. He takes his time to thoroughly examine you and he will not leave you until he feels sure you understand everything he has explained to you.
