Dr Burkhead is a pro. I had a massive injury - tore all tendons, damaged my shoulder blade, damaged my collar bone. He had to do a "graft jacket". 6 months on I have substantially full use of my shoulder, no pain. Dr Burkhead and his team at Carrell Clinic couldn't have been more attentive and professional. I unequivocally recommend them.

Dr. Burkhead and his team went out of their way to accommodate my Telemed consultation from the overseas location where I reside. Working very long distance, we were able to collect all necessary pre surgery tests, review options remotely, thereby allowing me to proceed directly to full shoulder replacement surgery within days of arrival in the U.S. The operation was a success, and 4 weeks post op, my shoulder is healing rapidly, thanks to his and his team’s diligence.

There has never been one bad word aboutDr. Burkhead and his practice. I never realized just how much he has “shouldered “.He is straight to the point, does what he can before he considers surgery and is very thorough when surgery is imminent.

I put off shoulder replacement surgery as long as I could because after normal replacement surgery I would have to give up lifting weights which I really enjoy. Dr. Burkhead offered an alternative which was a partial replacement with a tissue graft. This meant no plastic for the new head of the humerus to articulate with, so I didn't have to worry about the plastic coming loose over time. It's been 6 months and I started working out with light weights almost 2 months ago with no issues. I would definitely recommend Dr. Burkhead and his staff to anybody facing this kind of surgery.

Dr. Burkhead is one of the best surgeons in the DFW area. I really recommend anyone who has shoulder problem to see him and to listen to his expeert opinion. His knowledge and experience will definitely benefit your quality of life.

I had seen 3 different orthopedic physicians for my shoulder. I received different recommendations from each one. My shoulder got worse instead of better. My cousin told me about Dr. Burkhead my only regret is not seeing him sooner. He is a wonderful physician and his entire staff is amazing. I had surgery on my shoulder to repair a tendon, shave down a bone spur and remove calcium deposit. I started feeling better within 72 hours after the surgery. He is the only orthopedic to see. There aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with the results of my surgery snd everything about Dr. Burkhead. Thank you for giving me my life back without having to endure pain everyday and thank you for finally being able to get a good nights sleep!
