List of Damon V Mauldin Md's Reviews
Excellent Dermatologist. Has treated me, my wife and two of my kids. Knowledgeable and very calming presence.
The two office visits were rushed, and when I had a post-procedure infection, I could never, despite many attempts, get an appointment to see the doctor. It seems that once he can bill you for treatment, there's no interest in addressing any subsequent problem with wound care - even if you're following his instructions to contact him. I opted to seek acute care elsewhere instead of waiting 3 weeks for the next available appointment. He seems competent, but the overall experience left me feeling that my healthcare dollars were not well spent given that I had to seek follow-up care with a different, more available, practitioner.
Stay far, far away from this practice. The Doctor seems okay for the most part, but the nursing staff is truly incompetent. [How many nurses does it take to remove stitches? The answer is 5 -- because the first 2 messed it up so badly. And you can't see the doctor at this point, since HIS time is so very precious.] So, I had to make a second appointment to insist that the remaining - now painful - stitches be removed. Again, you can't see ANY doctor because "No one's available." This time, two different nurses couldn't manage it, so a third one (now the 5th one overall) was finally able to dig out the remaining stitches. Yeah, ouch. Now, I have a terrible scar that looks like I was on the losing end of a broken bottle fight. The final lesson - all the doctor's fancy stitch work - to supposedly improve the cosmetic results - turned out to be a total waste of time and effort because of his incompetent, untrained staff.
Dr. Mauldin was kind, caring, and took time to explain anything I had questions about and procedure he performed. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Great doctor, terrible reception (phone and front desk) and terrible nurses. I think he is worth the headache.
Dr. Mauldin was polite, attentive to my concerns, and provided me with a highly personalized service. I had a pleasant experience.
Dr. Mauldin was awesome, he removed a cyst from my temple, it has healed wonderfully, I am very grateful to him. Practice administration and billing is another story - they ran prior auth, no coverage it would cost $400. No problem, paid the charges in full on my way into the procedure. 1mo later I received a bill for an additional $289.19 without explanation. I called to inquire... "Well $400 was just an estimate, he ended up using a different billing code, maybe it was larger than he expected and so the total charge is now $689.19 and you owe $289.19" This was the first I learned it was an "estimate"... I thought we were settled. The procedure lasted all of 10minutes with local anesthetic, how could it be that you were off on the price by 72%, is this an administrative issue? "No, it looks like he just ended up using a different code and so the cost is $689.19, sorry" Our healthcare system makes no sense. Frustrating experience.
Dr Mauldin is awesome. He treated my daughter Eczema when she was 6 years old she is now 21.I always remember that experience and always keep him in mind just in cause we had to see him again.Well 16 years later I had to visit him.He came in the exam room and instantly knew what my problem was.Thank you so much Dr Mauldin.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
