Seven hours and still haven’t gotten stitches that are needed. Avoid this ER

They do not treat the patient. They give you medicine to mask the symptoms, but don’t actually take the time to figure out why you are having the symptoms. I have so many horror stories, but now I just go to Tanner Medical or Cobb Wellstar. I would rather travel out of the way than deal with the hospital I practically live next door too.

Needless to say my experience tonight warranted an update. I haven't been to wellstar Douglas in some time but I've seen improvement. I came in after Tanner couldn't find out what was wrong after 5 visits and my nurse, doctor and everyone who cared for me tonight at wellstar was amazing. They were thorough, took their time and explained everything!! I will definitely make the drive for better service.

Wow, emergency visit for asthma care does not appear to you as an emergency. Why in the world would someone come to you, the ER; if it wasn’t in need of immediate care?

The worst service I’ve ever received at a hospital!! I had to take my wife to the ER 3 times in less than a week because they kept sending her home saying nothing was wrong even though she was still complaining about the pain as they discharged her. You can’t go inside with the patient because of COVID precautions so you’re basically just sitting around waiting for hours without any sort of update from them. And when I finally called to see what was going on the lady told me she’d have a doctor call me and was ready to hang up without even taking my number! But the final straw was when they let my HEAVILY medicated wife walk out of the waiting room by herself in the middle of the night! I mean when I got to her she could barely walk or talk and yet there she was just standing in the middle of the street where anything could have happened to her. Granted, she’s a grown woman, but still a woman at the end of the day and anything could have happened to her! I am definitely filling a complaint, although with the way we’ve been treated this far I highly doubt it will do any good.

When I had heart palipitations they sent me home, EKG was showing nothing, but the level of effort to search for what was wrong was just non existent.

i would give the ER 0 stars if possible. i got there at 3 pm and wasn't even taken for vitals until 5. i was told i would need an ultra sound, CT scan, blood work ect. and by 10 pm i got up and left. a young girl came in 8 months pregnant and throwing up blood and she sat there just as long as me and ended up leaving as well. they don't wipe anything down, i had to sit next to people who tested positive for COVID, the staff was so passive aggressive. absolutely worst hospital experience ever. going to try a different hospital in the morning.

What happenned to Wellstar Douglas Hospital? The staff is very confrontational. Well the staff on 3 North. Extremely.neglecrful and have I don't give a rats butt attitude. Severe lack of communication between patient, nurses and doctors. You have to call and call asking to get an update. Took a Dr 4 days to call me back and I had to call an complain just to get that call back. Our community hospital isn't looking out for the community. Don't leave. elderly up there alone. Sad.

Great staff a bit slower than usual due to Covid-19

subpar patient care during my mothers emergency room visit after the open heart surgery. when I arrived to the ER with my mother I noticed no call button within reach, they wouldn't give her any water and never came back in the room to bring a blanket or to check on her. we are appalled at the care that she was given. The front desk nurse carol was a hateful, rude and don't care about the patient. It is clearly just a job to her. she really needs to be a debt collector instead of a nurse.
