University Health Care System's Online Review Report Card

The only reason I am giving this review a two is because the doctor was somewhat apologetic for the way me and my husband were treated yesterday morning. My husband wanted to take me to the doctor to get seen because I haven't been feeling well for the past couple of days. We got there at 10:00 am and I expected a long wait in the waiting room. I updated paperwork with my new married name and turned it in to the front desk. The front desk obviously did not update my information because I was continuously called by my maiden name, which caused confusion. I told the nurse that my name should be updated now according to my insurance. I did not get a response from her. Then when the doctor came in to take a look she kept saying "it is not Covid. I will test you for the flu. I can test you for covid but I do not recommend it cause it will come back negative." I trusted this doctors word. My husband was alarmed because I was showing symptoms of covid even though they are mild (thank the Lord) but we allowed the flu test. The tech came in to administer the flu test and then said it would be a couple of minutes. After 1 hour and 15 min I asked my husband to please check at the nurses station for the test and he came back saying the nurse was "working on it". No one came to check on us or tell us if we were next to have our test results done. I understand the healthcare system is very overloaded and I appreciate/respect all doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. However, we ended up waiting in that exam room for 2 hours without anyone coming to speak with us about my test. When I asked another nurse to please check I told her that they had my name wrong in the system so it could be my maiden name or my married name. The doctor came back into the room and responded "oh it's you." And darted back to find my test results. It ended up being that my results were just laying in a pile and no one had come to check on us. The doctor came back and said my flu test was negative but she did not recommend I have a covid test taken. We left very upset and went to another office called urgent MD and was treated within 30 min of being there and was out by another 20 min. It turns out I am positive for the covid virus. The bottom line is I trusted that doctor at this office to make a diagnosis and to help me get well. But because of miscommunication and no follow up I could have infected hundreds of people at my job, grocery store, and etc. The doctor was somewhat apologetic like I said but I feel as though I was not treated correctly because I did not have severe symptoms. However without proper treatment I could have really developed bad symptoms and also infected many people.

Staff is friendly! Doctors, Nurses are awesome!

This has to be the bottom of the barrel when it comes to any type of care. The nursing staff tries to talk and act as if they have the doctorate toward the patient and the doctors do NOT recognize your past medical condition, reports, exams, nor appropriate needs that are already verified and in place through your medical past history and prior physician. Unless you are actually dying I would highly recommend to keep searching or moving because you do NOT want to waste the time nor effort to stope here!!

I walked in this morning around 9am and there was only one other person in the waiting room. From the time I walked in, I received top-notch service! Greeted with a smile by the receptionists, the CMA Jorge was very helpful, and the NP Julie was awesome. I was even told to "have a great day" on the way out of the door! As a former resident of Grovetown and Evans, I've been to this location multiple times before, but that was at least 6 years ago. I'm currently visiting from where I live now (Baton Rouge) and decided to come here to be seen. I'm glad I did! Awesome service, staff and facility!

Great for a quick check of something that can't wait for you to get a P.C.P. appointment. Dr. Sherwood is great, and yhere is a younger P.A. there that is good also. The female Dr. is very blunt but good. So if you're a little soft skinned, prepare to get your undies in a bunch. I like that it is only my normal copay and not the super high ER copay. Usually very fast and courteous service by the reception staff as well.

Friendly nurses and doctors, a little bit of a wait though. Exceptional healthcare...
