List of Epiphany Dermatology's Reviews
I have had 5-6 occasions to visit this office. I love the location! Very professional, clean and safe. I feel comfortable sending friends and family to visit Dr. Matthys.
Honestly, if all medical practices were run like Sunflower Dermatology, the world would be a better place. Dr. Matthys is professional, extremely personable and touched with a great sense of humor. Their P.A., Lynn, talks you through everything she is doing and what to expect. All staff members tend to you like you're the only one there for an appointment. I live over 30 minutes away but choose to come to this practice due to the way I'm treated. I go to the Riverside office (have been there 5+ times) and have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Matthys and the staff at SDMDS.
It has been a while since I have been to this office, as I have moved out of state. However, as I continue to search for a new dermatologist in my new home state, I am constantly thinking about how nothing will be able to top my experience with Lynn Swafford at Sunflower Dermatology. I am 23 and have struggled with acne my entire life. I have seen several derms and have tried several medications, both topical and oral. Lynn was the first medical professional to actually listen to my concerns and take me seriously. She was always super attentive and informative. She once mailed me a handwritten note congratulating me on my new job after we had talked about it in a prior appointment!! I absolutely adore her. She has made such a difference in my skin and I will always be thankful for that. I send literally everyone I know to this place. And I will definitely go back to her if I ever move back to the area! And if she's no longer with this practice, I will cry... lol.
I have seen Dr. Menser and Dr. Mathys, and go to the aesthetician regularly. they have packages you can buy for your facials. I like that because it makes it easy to just take care of my skin. They regularly have special events at the office and this year even had a drawing for a trip to Hawaii. The office has been easy to work with and It's very easy to get there from any part of the metro, it's just off the hiway. I live in JoCo and it's only 20 minutes drive.
The inside is beautiful! They had tea, coffee and a thing of cucumber/lemon water which I love! So I got a glass it was warm and had almost a rust taste to it. I went in to see the doctor about some areas I had on my back and chin. The doctor did not even look at my back. Prescribed me 5 medications, all of which would not be sent into a pharmacy that was picked up in house and all INCREDIBLY over priced!
Cannot say enough good things about the entire staff here!I have had a long-term, chronic, uncontrolled skin condition for 25 years. A new drug recently became available that offered me hope for the first time in a very long time.I had gone to a previous dermatologist who did not go to bat for me with the insurance company who had been continuing to deny coverage for a new medication. Previous company was completely unresponsive and never returned calls or helped me in any way. After 8 very long, unresponsive, itchy months, I switched to Sunflower.Needless to say, I was skeptical coming here. I kind of already had it in my mind this was going to be no different... I could not have been more wrong! The nurse was kind and thorough, Dr. Rudloff was amazing. They listened, they prescribed something temporary to help control the symptoms. When I called with a question, they called me back within an hour! When the insurance company denied coverage, they immediately went to bat for me. They provided the missing info instead of waiting to do an appeal. Jessica Treat kept me updated on all the progress and continually fought for me.Within less than a month of my first visit here, I got approved for the medicine! I am so delighted and will sing their praises to anyone who will listen.
Sunflower Dermatology was nice, efficient and the waiting area was nice and clean. All nurses and the Doc were solid! I would highly recommend!
Sunflower Dermatology-Riverside Missouri- Probably won't post reviews that are unfavorable. I will not give them a rating (I had to give it a 1 in order to post) and I will not return to them nor will I recommend them to anyone I know. Their billing practices are less than acceptable. You must keep a credit card or debit card on file with them. I have Tri-Care insurance. Sunflower Dermatology knew the insurance was resubmitting and yet they charged my debit card "without notifying me first" and while my husband is on active duty orders with the United States Army during the government shutdown.
I have been going here for a few years now and I can't say enough good things about Sunflower Dermatology. The place is very nice and every doctor I have met with has been beyond wonderful. Highly recommend.
I cannot and will not give them a good rating because of their billing practices. They insist on each patient giving them a credit/debit card to have on file and then they just charge your acct without telling you beforehand or allowing you to set up payments if you have a large balance due. They charged my acct yesterday without warning and completely depleted my bank acct 4 days before Christmas. I have nothing left in the acct! This is no way to practice billing patients when they are looking for help and being charged hundreds of dollars to get their skin issues fixed. It was a huge mistake in my part to allow them access to my debit card. I should have walked out the day of my first appt when I was filling out the paperwork. I had driven 80 miles to see them and was desperate for help. I had no idea it was going to be like this. Never again. I will not be returning as a patient. My Christmas has been ruined. I even called and left a message and it was not returned.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
