This used to be my hospital of choice, I understand that it’s been difficult with Covid and exhausting with Covid. But the staff needs to realize that you still have to treat everyone like a human. I came in with something that truly concerned me, I got admitted because of my blood pressure and my initial concern was ignored the whole time I was there, I had to check myself out just so that I could go to urgent care and something could actually be done about my initial concern. Not only that but I am allergic to blueberries and I tell everyone that, but low and behold breakfast comes around and I get a blueberries muffin. Now I know I’m already admitted but it just seemed like they wanted to squeeze something else out of my insurance like an allergy reaction. I kept calling my nurse because my medicine would go out, and it took them up to an hour to come and change it, which would cause my blood pressure to crawl back up very high. The nurse would come in and say “why didn’t you call me when the machine started beeping.” My response would always be “I did 45 min to an hour ago and they would you would be right in” I requested some eye drops because my initial concern made it hard to close my eye and it was drying out badly. It took close to 14 hours to get my eye drops because the morning nurse forgot to put the order in. Like I said I had to check myself out and sign a form that I was refusing care just so that I could go to urgent care and get actual treatment for my initial concern.
So last night we spent a few hours at Piedmont Fayette Hospital(we arrived around 7:30pm) 🏥. To the staff, that worked last night in the emergency room, THANK YOU ALL 😇😇😇!!!!!!!!! DR. Paul, Dr. Josh, every medical personnel should strive to exemplify both of your standard of care!!!!!! You both are patient, kind, intelligent, funny, knowledgeable, reassuring, respectful, and passionate about what you both do!!!! I could not pay for the level of care that my daughter received last night!!!! The care received was extraordinary!!!!! We received exceptional care!!!!! Everyone that we came in contact with were phenomenal!!!! Every medical personnel whom came in contact with my daughter, explained each time what they would be doing, and explained the process while they were doing it as well. I am so grateful for every staff member at Piedmont Fayette Emergency !!!!! I know that sometimes your efforts may seem to go unnoticed, however every single staff member is amazing!!! The gentleman who did our intake & the EMT member at registration who was so gentle, polite, patient, kind, concerned, about my baby and bandaged her head up , THANK YOU!!!!! With an abundance of patients, every member in the emergency room rose to the occasion of providing exceptional care ❤❤❤!!!! There are no rewards nor medals, yet still every staff member rises to the occasion. This mama, again truly appreciates every medical professional, staff member, front desk, registration member, nurse, whom we came in contact with on last night in the emergency room !!!!!! Be blessed & continue to be the phenomenal standard of care!!!!!!! If every human being would exemplify what each of you did on last night, this world would be a much better place!!!! Oh and the smiles!!! I know that the job is stressful & can be overwhelming, yet every staff member SMILED😁😁😁!!!! THANK EACH OF YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!
I have an autonomic issue that causes my blood pressure to plummet, sometimes these spells spontaneously resolve, sometimes they do not. Today I went into the ER trying to get assistance barely able to stay conscious and literally was shuffled into line and parked in the waiting lobby and was told to clutch an emesis bag I was given because I was “hyperventilating” of course im hyperventilating you idiot my bp is sporadically crashing at irregular intervals. Thankfully this was an instance It resolved itself. So thankful for the lobby chairs for providing the urgent care I needed. You guys are lucky you haven’t been sued if this is how your hospital staff are trained. They were told out the gate about my autonomic condition- no excuse. Absolutely atrocious hospital and care.
I like the Hospital in general. My husband has had surgery here 3 times. he was admitted a fourth time unexpected and this time was such a bad experience. The dr for the hospital Dr. Bridget Etter is not a Dr that has any type of compassion... she is more controlling than doctoral. she insisted on keeping my husband in the hospital for an issue that he already knew of and was taking care of with a specialist. her keeping him another 2 days was not going to make a change. she is very arrogant and obnoxious. if you are ever in piedmont I hope you don't have her..
On 7/8/21 I took my wife to Fayette Piedmont Hospital E.R. On the early hours of 7/9 they preformed emergency surgery. They took her Jewelry consisting of her wedding engagment rings, her mothers wedding ring and diamond ear rings. That is the last she seen of them. Due to the seriousness of the surgery we didn't notice the jewelry was missing untill she returned home a week later. I contacted the Fayette Piedmont security. They infomed me that the same employee that recieved the jewelry checked and signed the Jewelry out . I or my wife knew nothing about it. She told security that the jewelry was returned to my wife She was out of it and heavily sedatated with pain medication the entire time she was at the hospital. If they did return the jewelry to her, she wasn't alert or in a state of mind to recieve the jewelry. The security department directed me to contact patient relations. The only response I recieved from her was in mid July urging me not to file a police report and that she would contact me. Since then I have made several atempts to contact her in August and September with no response. I went to the Jewelry store where they have our purchases on file to get reciepts. The sales associate told me that there have been others who have gone for surgery at Fayette Piedmont Hospital and have had their jewery stolen as well.
I am currently in the ER as we speak and I have never in all of my years experienced such a horrible health visit while already going through a traumatic experience. The level of insensitivity, lack of compassion and disregard is unbelievable. From the moment the paramedics brought me in the doctors the nurse, the registration people, the triage staff was totally unconcerned with my level of pain, my inability to walk. They looked at me and treated me with disgust and disdain. After numerous times telling them I couldn’t sit at all, that walking was almost nonexistent they still tried to push me to do things I couldn’t and even try to discharge me still with significant pain going on. The doctors several times wanted to say it’s solved through time which I know but I am focusing on this moment in time where you tell me about criteria with NO regard for the pain still existing in my back and lower extremities. Although I expressed that sometimes things are missed he still wanted a scapegoat to get me out the door and the nurses did too! It is beyond me to think I’m going to the ER to get answers but they were only bent on getting me out the door and freeing up a bed. This was not right on any level t all. Even when I asked them for assistance getting up off the floor because I couldn’t sit in chairs the triage staff even seemed perturbed at me as if I was inconveniencing them with my pain. The only Angel was SEAN who got me to X-ray. I would never recommend this hospital. What I experienced in May at the ER totally different today in September. Even when I needed assistance to bathroom the nurse looked at me in disgust and when she brought a prescription in she said she couldn’t even send to a closer pharmacy I would have to. Just no regard for trying to make things as easy as possible knowing I’m in beyond level pain!! Unbelievable just unbelievable . What happened to compassion? Well it doesn’t exist at Piedmont Fayette ER. At least not for me! Oh and may I add the doctor even slightly slammed the door leaving me the last time and now as I’m still in ER room writing this.
My fiance was admitted thru the ER a few weeks ago. Everyone was great except for that last dr, Dr. Befikir Atil. He sent a prescription to the pharmacy that required a precert before the insurance would cover it and after calling and asking for it to be done urgently, it was never done. He also didn't send him home with a prescription for a much needed other medication as well as referring him to a Dr that is no longer seeing patients because he's retiring. I have to personally give a huge thank you and glowing review for RN case manager Ashley D. Howard. Every time there was a screw up or there was something we needed she would get it taken care of as quickly as possible. She truly went above and beyond with helping make sure we got the medication and supplies we needed as well as helped with trying to get follow-up appointments. If it were not for her, I don't know what shape he would be in post discharge. Thank you Ashley for being a RN who cares. I wish I could remember all the RN's names that took care of my fiance because ALL the nurses at Piedmont Fayette were awesome, they were the real MVPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had kidney stone surgery June 30, 2021. Received outstanding care from recovery nurses Susan and Cindy along with nurses on 5 West Taylor, Robert, Arielle, Sarah and Joshua. I’m home now recovering and appreciate so much how well they took care of me. They are the best! I’m grateful to Dr John Abbott for his expertise and caring way. He’s one of the good ones.
The fact of the matter that I came to this hospital twice last week because I wasn’t feeling well for them to tell me nothing is wrong with me and send me home still feeling bad and treating me like I was telling a lie about how I was feeling two days later I go to another doctor to find out I have Covid this hospital is the worst something needs to be done
Worst customer service ever! My kids were here from out of state and were treated horribly! I am totally disappointed. I have never been mistreated at this hospital so that means your quality of service has gone down. My son was in pain and you totally disregarded that and was just outright nasty. You will have to answer to your mistreatment of sick people.
