This used to be my hospital of choice, I understand that it’s been difficult with Covid and exhausting with Covid. But the staff needs to realize that you still have to treat everyone like a human. I came in with something that truly concerned me, I got admitted because of my blood pressure and my initial concern was ignored the whole time I was there, I had to check myself out just so that I could go to urgent care and something could actually be done about my initial concern. Not only that but I am allergic to blueberries and I tell everyone that, but low and behold breakfast comes around and I get a blueberries muffin. Now I know I’m already admitted but it just seemed like they wanted to squeeze something else out of my insurance like an allergy reaction. I kept calling my nurse because my medicine would go out, and it took them up to an hour to come and change it, which would cause my blood pressure to crawl back up very high. The nurse would come in and say “why didn’t you call me when the machine started beeping.” My response would always be “I did 45 min to an hour ago and they would you would be right in” I requested some eye drops because my initial concern made it hard to close my eye and it was drying out badly. It took close to 14 hours to get my eye drops because the morning nurse forgot to put the order in. Like I said I had to check myself out and sign a form that I was refusing care just so that I could go to urgent care and get actual treatment for my initial concern.
So last night we spent a few hours at Piedmont Fayette Hospital(we arrived around 7:30pm) 🏥. To the staff, that worked last night in the emergency room, THANK YOU ALL 😇😇😇!!!!!!!!! DR. Paul, Dr. Josh, every medical personnel should strive to exemplify both of your standard of care!!!!!! You both are patient, kind, intelligent, funny, knowledgeable, reassuring, respectful, and passionate about what you both do!!!! I could not pay for the level of care that my daughter received last night!!!! The care received was extraordinary!!!!! We received exceptional care!!!!! Everyone that we came in contact with were phenomenal!!!! Every medical personnel whom came in contact with my daughter, explained each time what they would be doing, and explained the process while they were doing it as well. I am so grateful for every staff member at Piedmont Fayette Emergency !!!!! I know that sometimes your efforts may seem to go unnoticed, however every single staff member is amazing!!! I felt as though I was among angels & real life superheros🦸🏾♂️🦸🏾♀️🦸🦹♂️🦹🏾♀️🦹🦸🏻♀️🦸🏼♀️🦸♀️🦸♂️🦸🏼♂️🦸🏼♂️🦸🏻🦹🏼♀️🦹!!!!! Thanks for having a passion for what each & everyone of you does!!!!!! I mean to the gentlemen at registration, I sincerely apologize for not remembering your names, I appreciate you both tremendously!!!! The gentleman who did our intake & the EMT member at registration who was so gentle, polite, patient, kind, concerned, about my baby and bandaged her head up , THANK YOU!!!!! With an abundance of patients, every member in the emergency room rose to the occasion of providing exceptional care ❤❤❤!!!! There are no rewards nor medals, yet still every staff member rises to the occasion. This mama, again truly appreciates every medical professional, staff member, front desk, registration member, nurse, whom we came in contact with on last night in the emergency room !!!!!! Be blessed & continue to be the phenomenal standard of care!!!!!!! If every human being would exemplify what each of you did on last night, this world would be a much better place!!!! Oh and the smiles!!! I know that the job is stressful & can be overwhelming, yet every staff member SMILED😁😁😁!!!! THANK EACH OF YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!
I have an autonomic issue that causes my blood pressure to plummet, sometimes these spells spontaneously resolve, sometimes they do not. Today I went into the ER trying to get assistance barely able to stay conscious and literally was shuffled into line and parked in the waiting lobby and was told to clutch an emesis bag I was given because I was “hyperventilating” of course im hyperventilating you idiot my bp is sporadically crashing at irregular intervals. Thankfully this was an instance It resolved itself. So thankful for the lobby chairs for providing the urgent care I needed. You guys are lucky you haven’t been sued if this is how your hospital staff are trained. They were told out the gate about my autonomic condition- no excuse. Absolutely atrocious hospital and care.
I like the Hospital in general. My husband has had surgery here 3 times. he was admitted a fourth time unexpected and this time was such a bad experience. The dr for the hospital Dr. Bridget Etter is not a Dr that has any type of compassion... she is more controlling than doctoral. she insisted on keeping my husband in the hospital for an issue that he already knew of and was taking care of with a specialist. her keeping him another 2 days was not going to make a change. she is very arrogant and obnoxious. if you are ever in piedmont I hope you don't have her..
On 7/8/21 I took my wife to Fayette Piedmont Hospital E.R. On the early hours of 7/9 they preformed emergency surgery. They took her Jewelry consisting of her wedding engagment rings, her mothers wedding ring and diamond ear rings. That is the last she seen of them. Due to the seriousness of the surgery we didn't notice the jewelry was missing untill she returned home a week later. I contacted the Fayette Piedmont security. They infomed me that the same employee that recieved the jewelry checked and signed the Jewelry out . I or my wife knew nothing about it. She told security that the jewelry was returned to my wife She was out of it and heavily sedatated with pain medication the entire time she was at the hospital. If they did return the jewelry to her, she wasn't alert or in a state of mind to recieve the jewelry. The security department directed me to contact patient relations. The only response I recieved from her was in mid July urging me not to file a police report and that she would contact me. Since then I have made several atempts to contact her in August and September with no response. I went to the Jewelry store where they have our purchases on file to get reciepts. The sales associate told me that there have been others who have gone for surgery at Fayette Piedmont Hospital and have had their jewery stolen as well.
This is the worst hospital I have ever seen in my life. I went to the hospital three time these last two times I was treated rudely by Dr. Salyer Vu the nurse I had on 07/9/2021 was so sweet and kind and caring but that doctor omg he is very rude and uncaring. I came to the hospital because I was having chest pains, my legs, feet and ankles were swollen so badly I barley could walk or even bend my toes for that matter. They did all type of test to see if something was wrong. I had to ask Dr. Vu did I have a problem with my heart and he said yes just a little fluid around your heart that’s all nothing got you to be out of work for (REALLY) are you kidding me. So Dr.Vu gave me 5 water pills I told him what pharmacy I used he sent it to the wrong one. So I go back on yesterday which was ( 07/24/2021) for the same thing the same problems I got Dr.VU again as my DR.!!!! The only differences is I had a headache for the last 4 days and my stomach was burning so badly I was crying. I asked for something to be given to me nothing at all. The only thing they did was check my blood pressure, they gave me 4 baby aspirin at 7am and nothing else after, nothing to coat my stomach to help stop burning, nothing for my head to stop hurting, my blood pressure was up, then I here is the good part which will make everyone run from this hospital so I was sleeping Dr. VU comes into my room wakes me, and says there isn’t anything wrong everything looks fine, I am going to keep telling you the same thing every time you come here we didn’t find anything wrong just a little fluid around your heart just got see your cardiologist really really, so I called my mom who isn’t well herself told her what happened she told me to get the nurse so I get the nurse who had a nasty attitude it took me 4 times to get ahold of her to come to the room kind you my room was right across from the nurses station, so when come in the room I told her I was light headed and I needed to use the bathroom she says oh the bathroom is over by whatever, so after that I asked to speak with charge nurse who had attitude when I tell you attitude after she was done speaking to me rudely. I said to her I did not ask that you come my room because I had a problem with my medication that was proscribed too me mind you that’s what my nurse had told this woman. I told her ( Off) in a nice way they discharged me & they didn’t say here is a sandwich or anything I am also diabetic they didn’t check my blood charge or anything I hate this hospital and the way o was treated and I am going to make sure everybody knows not to here at all. If you get Dr.VU, Nurse Rebecca and the charge nurse Tanya I’m here to tell get ready for a problem. I am a niece of a well known bishop you would thing I still would have been treated with care. These ppl at this hospital will have the ppl thinking you’re a liar and you made up your own health problems. I also have Asthma as well. SMH I will never ever ever go to this hospital while I was sitting a lady came out of the ER area as if she was leaving she was crying and upset and she said those idiots let her father sit in the waiting area fir hours in pain the older gentleman appendix had bursted. Really that’s how this hospital is treating ppl, a lady who was already in the ER told them she had her gallbladder removed and they sent her home she had come back cuz something was wrong that lady had been at that hospital with her husband so she could be seen since 3am & she didn’t get since until about 8 or 9am you have to be kidding me. What the HELL is wrong with this hospital and the ppl who work here my GOD smh. I wanted to share two photos of my feet and how swollen they were when I entered the hospital and when they discharged me and you tell me you would go to this hospital to get care. I say run for the heels and don’t look back. Also I have asthma and Dr.Vu said let me check your breathing mind you use could her how bad I was wheezing when you entered my room and he says oh your lungs sound fine who the HELL lungs was his listening to. Are you kidding The first photo is when I arrived in my room and how my legs and feet were swollen and the second photo was when they discharged me. I barely could walk that’s now much pain I was in.
I would not recommend one thing about this hospital. My family member has been in this facility for the past 12 days with Covid. There is absolutely no sense of urgency at this place. The first encounter that I had was being allowed to walk all the way up to icu without one ounce of security asking what or where I was going. The second time I went to drop off belongings I was yelled at by a staff member and was told to go back downstairs and get screened for covid. The third time I came by to bring my family member some belongings, I was told to bring them up to the unit myself. There is absolutely no standardized process at this place. The care that was suppose to be received in my opinion was neglectful. There were times when my family member waited 6 hours to get his water refilled. He asked for more to eat and was always ignored. Really starting to wonder if the hospital’s best interest is to rack up the patient’s hospital bill versus putting the patient’s best interest first. I have been in healthcare for a very long time. This is not standard healthcare. No patient should ever have to sit in a critical care area of the hospital and receive little to no interaction or care for that matter. There is not one ounce of compassion from the staff. My family member has video of nurses and other staff members taking selfie’s on their cell phones outside of his patient room. I have had to reach out many times to follow up with rationals for this sheer lack of care. This hospital should be ashamed to be called a hospital that excels with patient care. Total false advertisement. My family members will never return to this prison. Attempted to contact the hospital patient advocate a couple of times, not sure if the department even exists due to the lack of a returned phone call. I have never been so thankful to be a team member at the current hospital I work at. This place needs a huge overhaul. I highly recommend some education in healthcare communication. Don’t go to this place unless you like to be mistreated and neglected. What a nightmare.
I had kidney stone surgery June 30, 2021. Received outstanding care from recovery nurses Susan and Cindy along with nurses on 5 West Taylor, Robert, Arielle, Sarah and Joshua. I’m home now recovering and appreciate so much how well they took care of me. They are the best! I’m grateful to Dr John Abbott for his expertise and caring way. He’s one of the good ones.
The fact of the matter that I came to this hospital twice last week because I wasn’t feeling well for them to tell me nothing is wrong with me and send me home still feeling bad and treating me like I was telling a lie about how I was feeling two days later I go to another doctor to find out I have Covid this hospital is the worst something needs to be done
Worst customer service ever! My kids were here from out of state and were treated horribly! I am totally disappointed. I have never been mistreated at this hospital so that means your quality of service has gone down. My son was in pain and you totally disregarded that and was just outright nasty. You will have to answer to your mistreatment of sick people.
