Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Infusion Center's Online Review Report Card

I was involved in a dirt bike accident this past Saturday and my wife drove me to the hospital. Check in was quick and efficient and I was placed into Exam Room 7 and told someone would see me. I had no way to communicate with the nurse and had to position myself to stand with a high degree of pain. When I entered the hall 90 minutes later everyone was surprised to see me there and after waiting 20 more minutes the Doctor arrived. You could tell it had been a rough day. I think that she was doing the best she could. I am not in the healthcare business but saw so many protocols broken in my treatment. Closed door with no access to call button, never inquired about existing RX's. Was sent home with no pain medicine and all pharmacies were already closed. Had lost count of pain med's administered ER already and nearly od'd me If I had not spoken up. Nice facility but I fear will be making headline news for the wrong reasons if they do not get on their "A" game

I try to always write positive reviews but this time I cannot.  Managing pain is something a compassionate health care giver would normally do but not the case here.  As a person who is on zero medications - I was howling in pain with a raging Kidney Stone and they would not give me ANYTHING to dull the pain.   One nurse said - Kidney Stones are not that painful.  ????   Was treated horribly.  Could NEVER RECOMMEND anyone to go there.Last year my neighbors husband had a heart attack at home and he passed - the ambulance transported him, still alive, to this facility - not one compassionate thing was said to our friend/neighbor....   so very sad.Hard to believe they have won any awards - unless they can pay for them.

I moved here several years ago from NC and heard horrible word of mouth reviews and was advised to avoid them at all costs but last night I needed to take my father in law for treatment. We arrived at 10 till midnight and was immediately checked in. Made it through triage quickly and into an emergency room where they started tests and lab work. Even though the staff were busy running back and forth between rooms and helping multiple patients they were still friendly and displayed great bedside manners having to put up with my father in law who is older and much less politically correct than should be tolerated in a professional setting. I commend them for all they do and how they maintained composure while doing their duties seemingly unappreciated and somewhat harassed by at least one grumpy old man and a very appreciative son in law.

This is without doubt , the worst hospital.  The night staff is cold and uncaring.  I felt like a number, not a human who needed help.   They sent me home without the necessary medicine for my problem.  I have asthma n a serious lung infection.  Have had asthma ALL MY LIFE.  When I told the attending doctor that the color of phlegm was dark green (always a life long sign to me that it was serious), her response was that it was not true.  When leaving, out of breath, I struggled and was offered no help,  JUST indifference by the staff nurses who were busy talking n laughing in a circle.  I said goodnight n received no response except a look indicating that I was interrupting their nightly giggle session. , "The medicine I needed was was simply a good antiobiotic.  I received a strong shot of a muscle relaxer that rendered me too weak to drive n sent home ALONE.    I went elsewhere for the prescription.   A cold and uncaring night staff with a lot to say to each other, not having time to talk to the patient.     Another occasion recently, they sent my 13 yr old grandson for an MRI after taking an X-Ray for an ankle they said was broken but was not. My neighbor ,a young mother brought her 6 yr old there after a that left GLASS embedded in her leg.  The STITCHED OVER N LEFT GLASS STILL IN THE WOUND.     My daughter was sent home with laxatives when she had a URINARY TRACT INFECTION.    They need a complete staff overhaul with a desire to help patients.  I longer for st. Joe's hospital where care n respect is given.I believe they should not to be in a profession like medical where Compassion is given freely n honestly.    Ps.  I asked the PA if she was the doctor n told me she was the "attending physician" hence leading me to believe she WAS the dr, which would not have mattered since MOST PA'S are quite professional.  She seemed to feel insulted at my innocent inquiry.   I will go so far as to say the hospital administrators need to investigate who they hire n monitor their work ethics.Also, I am a lighthearted person n would only praise the staff but certainly not the nite on Nov 09, 2019.  Walk out if the attending PA is RACHEL Stephens, a cold, uncaring PA.  and every nurse on ER duty the night of Nov 9, 2019 WAS  also frigid n disinterested .  Turn around n leave quickly from the ER hospital of HORROR.I BELIEVe the HYPOCRATTIC OATH SAID , ",DO NO HARM".Their OATH MUST HAVE SAID.   "DO NOTHING, BUT STILL CHARGE".The unprofessional n uncaring attitude begins with they  desk lady who signs in patients .   It's still downhill after being admitted. Bad attitudes roll downhill n INFECTD the uneducated country nurses.

We have been unfortunate enough to use Piedmont Mountainside ER 3 times in the last couple of years. My wife and I are both over 65 and have never received better health care. The staff at PM is absolutely the best. I can't imagine anyone giving a rating lower than 5 unless their problem is of their own doing.

The absolute best care possible. Waiting time is "silly short"Excellent staff, and I have 40+ years experience in the medical field.

I like having this hospital nearby. I know that some counties in Georgia have not been fortunate enough to keep a hospital. I also know that some nearby hospitals make a big point of being "faith-based." As important as my religion is in my life, I enjoy thinking that my hospital's caregiving is science- and medicine-based. This does not decrease the quality of caregiving at Piedmont Mountainside. The hospital did a wonderful job, as did my wife's ob/gyn doctor who did her surgery yesterday. Waits were not any longer than we've experienced anywhere else, and we received an unsolicited apology for the longest of those waits. All the areas, both patient and waiting, were fairly comfortable. Every professional was courteous and able. My wife did spend an overnight there in 2013, and that experience gave a good initial impression. Piedmont Healthcare seems to be a very good organization, and the price tag for their care is not out of line with what such organizations appear to be charging these days. Their care is sound.

I brought my husband in with complaints of heart issues. We were not in the waiting room long before sent back. We stayed for almost 4 hours with tests done. All was fine?? How is that possible? The Dr told us to follow up with the primary Dr this week. Not happy with no results as to why he feels like this. Our nurse was nice and well attentive. We had a private room as well.
