List of Piedmont Macon Medical Center's Reviews
I definitely wouldn’t recommend Piedmont due to my recent experience. Leaving a disoriented stroke patient in the hallway 2 days is unacceptable. Not to mention the transporter Keith who made rude comments and refused to assist. I informed Keith that I would report him to his supervisor. He retrieved a post it note and wrote down his supervisor number and told me to call him.
Ms. Sharon was rude and unprofessional. I do not recommend her helping anybody that needs the help.
My wife was transported there last Thursday morning due to complications, this facility hands down is ranked right at the top with one of the best medical facilities. The overall staff as well as the doctors take great pride in caring for your love ones when they are unable to care for themselves.
No privacy. At the check in, I described why I was there due to a scar that looked infected. I can't turn my head to see it, nor feel it, but I'd been feeling bad after the last spinal injection. I showed another female, at the desk. I didnt intend on having to reshow it more to others at that 1st desk, including by a man that wasn't a doctor. That's not how it works and there were several patients there. The scar is right above my behind. The second desk, this lady is very nice. The left side that used to be the pediatric area is where the practitioner puts people through interrogation, not documenting nor addressing concern. I told him, but he kept reasking them went to 'abdominal pain.'Another doctor stepped in to help, I was upset at this point. The guy had said, "I wouldn't keep going to the same hospital that isn't treating me." I grabbed my cellphone to put him on Facebook Live and told him.Don't go there alone. (And I do have part of this captured.) Vitals had not been taken, record had not been pulled up. No one checked me out besides there at the first desk. "Yeah, it sorta looks okay," by the desk staff. The practitioner was making his own assumptions. This isn't the first time... I shouldn't have to bring a camera but I had no one with me when I got there. I didn't do anything wrong. "We can't reach your doctor tonight," "I'm trying to figure out why you're here." But my health records are shared and available to this hospital exclusively. I also brought my bag that had some information, and I also logged into my specialist's patient portal. All this after exposing my lower back at the desk in the waiting lobby, asked to pull my shirt up again.Again, his supervisor came and at least did the lab work to address the concern. After confirming my identity and seeing why I would be there, he became nicer but the damage was done. None of these folks realized that trying to inspect me right there at the 1st desk was wrong. By then, my sister had arrived. I would have died if I was having a stroke... The weakness, numbness, and indication of infection was why I went. I was told if I ever had a problem with the spinal injections to let the ER check it out because it could get bad for me. Infection could enter the blood or spinal fluid. I can't deal with this anymore with this ER. Plus, it was really dirty and unclean. I shouldn't change hospitals, the hospital should train or change the practitioner. I've had two children here. My family goes here, so if I need help, its where I'd go.
I had surgery on the 18th Nov at the Day Surgery center. I cannot say I have ever had a better hospital staff experience than I did yesterday. From desk, RN to Doctors, they all were smiling very very helpful and calming to me and my wife. This is not my first surgery, more like my 12th over the years. I could not have been in better hands.I want to say again how thankful I am to have had such a upbeat and hard working members of your staff see me through what I was going through.Thomas shedd.
Wonderful nurses and techs but typical doctors who don’t listen to the patient and pursue their ego driven agenda. We left there no better than we arrived but tens of thousands of dollars of tests were donated to them. We were supposed to have medical equipment delivered when we arrived home but that didn’t show. This country’s medical services are becoming third world very quickly.
The visit to hospital to have my CT scan was great everyone was nice and they made sure they collected the $220 copay for the CT scan. Yet when I asked for a itemized bill I was told that it was not available from the hospital that I would have to call billing. I did and was told that I would need to wait 9 days before I could request a itemized statement. I need this to get reimbursed my copay. I was told that it was mailed out already. I then call a couple days later and was told that it could not take and additional 15 days for me to receive the itemized bill due to the postal service changing things. This representative Brian was very rude and no help. I told asked again could I pick up from the hospital where I had the CT scan done he said no, and no it could not be emailed to me either that it had to go through the mail. I advised Mr. Brian that I would tell my doctor not to send me to that facility again and his statement was okay is that all I can do for you. I WILL NEVER GO TO THE PIEDMONT HOSPITAL in Macon, Ga. ever again if this is the way that they treat their patients. I gave a 1 star but based on the way I was treated by Brian I would have given a minus 1 star. Everyone at the hospital was awesome, but the billing department is TERRIBLE and very unprofessional. I will make sure that my doctor never sends me or any of his patients to this hospital after the way I was treated by billing. I went to the PIEDMONT MACON NORTHSIDE.
Very rude women at guest services. Not cool. Main entrance first floor. Rude with terrible attitude.
Never enough handicap parking places. Go an hour before your appointment to get a space in time before appointment.
Unfortunately due to cancer I’ve had many visits to this place. My nurses are always kind. My surgeon Dr. Ray, is the obsolete best. The place is always clean and welcoming. Never had single problem with any of my surgeries.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
