My mom was only in hospice 3-4 weeks but everything about this hospice care was excellent, from the initial, professional explanation of services to the carrying out of said services to the very unexpected sympathy card signed by all the staff. Thank you, Amity Care Office Team and workers
Thank you to everyone at Amity who helped make my dad more comfortable in his final 2 weeks. I called on a Monday and by that evening, my dad was completely set up at home. I barely had to do anything, which was such a relief being 25 and dealing with all this on my own. Thank you to the nurses and CNA who showed my dad compassion. Thank you to the priest who prayed over my dad only hours before his death and then called me to say kind words after. I appreciate you all.
Horrible experience… sent in equipment we didn’t need. The person who signed my mom up didn’t follow our request for effective date on the 1st of the month…don’t remember regular visits from chaplain or social worker. Only stayed 2 months…could see we were just $ signs to them. It’s sad that hospice has turned into a money making enterprise and the humanity and comfort giving has taken a back seat. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Wanted to share what a wonderful experience it has been to have Bambi as our caregiver. She is a blessing as we go thru this tough time.
I am so thankful for the kind and caring wonderful nurse, Charity and the CNA Telesha. The care my Dad receives is the outstanding. Charity always is a available for me to talks and ask questions. They really treat my Dad like he is family. Thank You for all you do everyday!!!
My husband is presently in hospice with amity care and could not be more pleased with his 24/7 care - staff is always there to answer my questions and give me solid guidance - I especially give 5 stars to Stacy the RN in charge of his medical care - she has gone over and beyond her scope of practice and I feel she has become a personal friend to us♥️
May, 2023 What a difference a few months makes. Today, I was forced to change my review of Amity Care Hospice from 5-stars to 1-star, so it is now merely average. My previous review no longer applies. After the death of my father in July, 2022, my mother had to transfer from palliative care to hospice care. I was so incredibly relieved that the very same compassionate care team who cared for my father wanted to stay on to take care of my mother. However, since my last review, I've been dealing with one long-distance stressor after another within the last few months. Basically the organization, now under new management, no longer places emphasis on providing kind, caring, and compassionate care for patients and their families. The management now only cares only about the money it can make off of one's dying loved one. The patient is no longer a person, but a dollar sign. Management will recommend increased services provided by personnel the patient and family does not know and who has zero rapport. Management's argument is "it doesn't make sense to have Nurse Aide Fantastic or Nurse Wonderful come to your home anymore because we can have someone who's last patient is only four miles away to pop in instead -- it makes better sense for The Company financially." They feel it is absolutely okay to take people who have created relationships with your loved ones and replace them like legos because it makes better sense for the "growth & sustainability" of the organization. If you develop a close relationship with an Amity Care caregiver, don't get used to it. You will, in all likelihood one day, face a stranger who knows nothing about your family and the relationships you've made. The management treats their employees with little to no respect and for that very reason, there will be a revolving exit door of decent caregivers, as new employees are not being brought in at the same speed as the good seasoned ones leaving. The staff we've had have been fantastic, but we can't help but feel happiness when they announce their departure to a place which will value them, or at the very least, pay them for reasonable time worked as well as cover their health insurance. Rather than having peace of mind knowing that one's loved one is valued and cared for, expect to have to constantly follow up with the management on prescriptions, tests, and consistency of staffing. After speaking to Amity Care leadership, I can honestly say that I wouldn't trust the lot of them to be true to their word. They sell what they want to sell, bill what they want to bill, and tell their employees to just suck up and take it. My only hope is that I can have a semblance of consistency until my mother's death. I pray that the remaining care & support staff I still know will hang on long enough to see my mother through her last days. I'm not saying that Amity Care Hospice is any worse than any other organization out there - I'm just saying it's certainly not any better. It once was a jewel, but is no longer. Amity Care Hospice is a place I cannot in all good conscience recommend to our neighbors, families or friends. March, 2023 (was a 5-star rating) Sometime during the pandemic, my father was transferred into hospice care. I was unable to visit until after I'd been vaccinated at boosted. I was kept in the know by the staff of Amity. The doctors, nurses, pastoral care, social workers, technicians & support personnel are truly the best. The Amity team stayed with our family through my father's passing and subsequent interment. Staff made a point to attend the private memorial service held at my mother's home to make sure my mother and I were okay. Their kindness and care is boundless. The Amity team has continued to support our family as my mother now receives hospice care. Difficult times are ahead, but I do not feel alone. I know transitions are never easy, but after all will be said and done, I know I've made true friends to last me the rest of my life.
I would not trust your loved one in this company's hands.
If you love your family, GO ELSEWHERE. Save yourself the anxiety and worry in your family members last few days. The head nurse Laura was by far the WORST, horrible, completely unprepared made promises that were never delivered and was diagnosing and treating my father via telephone without ever visiting. In my fathers last few days they lacked everything. They didn’t have enough medications on site, they didn’t get morphine delivered on time, and they never delivered enough. Leaving my father to suffer at several points during his final hours. Losing somebody, especially a parent is difficult enough, these people just made it HORRIFIC. This hospice company doesn’t even deserve the one star I had to give in order to leave a review on Google.
Very unprofessional. Nurse was extremely rude to my family and I. I was also under the impression they were supposed to touch base after the passing which they never did. Never heard a word from them after my mom passed. Save yourself grief and go somewhere else!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
