List of Summit Spine And Joint Centers's Reviews
I have been seen by at least 5 providers at SSJC over the past 4 years. They are caring people who do their best to help patients. However, I have found their back office staff to be incredibly incompetent. They have owed me hundreds of dollars for years and they were holding that money hostage despite having EOBs from insurance companies showing I owed them $0. Recently they refunded part of that money, but decided to randomly ignore one of the EOBs and keep an extra $18.77 of my money. I called them back, sent a copy of the EOB, and while they can see their "mistake," their ability to fix their mistake and refund the rest of the money owed me will probably take years. That is how long it took last time. I quit using SSJC over 6 months ago because of this.
I have inquired numerous times requesting my mothers medical records (DISCHARGE RELEASE) to be faxed to WellStar North Fulton Spine and Pain Center and the provider (Dr. Ligofi ) has not. WellStar Clinic has requested the information as well and they have not. This is For my mother who was seen at the Lawrenceville location. WellStar needs her (DISCHARGE RELEASE). I've been in contact with medical records and spoke with Iona at the Lawrenceville location. She mentioned that the orginal request was 20 business days ago and the request would have to wait an additional 2 business days. How is it that WellStar received my moms Doctors Notes and not the Discharge Release when the request for both was requested at the same time. This is very discouraging going back and forth trying to get information from a clinic that's supposed to be proactive in providing care to a patient and the clinic who's requesting information to care for a patient been waiting for almost a month to be scheduled and can't because Summit Spine & Joint won't release the information and does't deem this as urgent for the patient who's in PAIN.
Lower back pain? 100% recommendations
I scheduled an appointment with them. they told me at the time of scheduling that they couldn't prescribe pain meds because of the medication I'm already on. i told them I didn't want pain meds I needed an MRI to find out how bad the damage to my spine was and figure out where to go from there. After the intake nurse spoke with me another nurse came in and asked me if I was there for injections or pain meds because they couldn't see me for pain because of my current meds. I told her neither that I just want an MRI and then go from there. Dr. Hamilton came in asked me about what was going on with my back. As I was going over my injuries and symptoms he asked again about injections to which I told him that I don't want to do injections as I've had them before in another location of my back and it offered no pain relief, only to leave huge knots in my back that took weeks to recover from ,I let him know I didn't appreciate his nurse asking me about pain meds when I've already made it crystal clear to the nurse that that's not why I'm here.when making the appointment. I just want the MRI, find out what the damage is, then figure out what the options are and if im eligible for stem cells to which he replied that he wasn't going to order tests for the sake of ordering tests. Then said he couldn't help me. to which I replied I can give you the doctor's names and you can verify I've had 2 mri's and epidurals on my lower back and its not ordering them for the sake of ordering them but to figure out what other damge has occurred since my last mri over 14 years ago . It seems like this isn't a legitimate spine doctor just a place to get injections and get people hooked on pain meds.
Love the service, but can’t reach anyone when need them
The staff is very friendly and kind. Dr. Barroso has been very proactive in helping me get to the root cause of my pain and has been very helpful in helping me navigate through my complex medical issues with care and compassion. I’m very grateful, good care is hard to come by.
Entire staff, from front office to the providers, are always professional and compassionate. Dr Marrero is very dedicated and caring and listens with empathy.
Caring and compassionate staff. Dr Marrero is very good doctor who did kyphoplasty procedure on me. My mobility improved a lot and my lower back pain has gone down a lot. I definitely will go to summit spine again if needed.
Make an appointment for 1:30pm, show up 15mins early as instructed at 1:15pm. Sit around in a chair for one hour. Don’t get called in for your appointment until 1hr AFTER your appointment time. Why make an appointment when they don’t follow their end of the appointment? People build their day around an appointment and when you get there for the appointment you sit around for an hour past your appointment time wasting your whole day. Happened to me twice at this location. No thanks. Do NOT recommend coming here and wasting your time. Good luck.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
