List of Soyini MATTIS Hawkins's Reviews
I suffered from massive fibroids for so many years, I honestly forgot what life felt like without an uncomfortable, unsightly protruding 5-pound uterus. Thanks to Dr. Hawkins, I finally have my life back. She didn’t sugarcoat the challenges before or after surgery, and I appreciated her honesty every step of the way. She’s professional but also incredibly personable—kind, patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. Emphasis on thorough! I went to two other fibroid specialists in metro Atlanta and neither was as thorough as she was. There was no sit-down consultation to discuss what I desired nor did they discuss all available options. They only did ultrasounds. She had me do a full scan MRI, as well as something on my legs to rule out blood clots. She was able to get a full scope of the 15+ fibroids and explain her surgery approach to me in a way I could understand—benefits and risks. I never felt pressured to go through with the surgery. I was given ample time to think it over and contact her office with questions. She and her staff were always quick to respond. I'm several months post-op and feeling like a new woman. Scars are practically invisible. The only thing that made me (almost) regret the surgery were the bowel movements 1-5 days post-op. Painful!! Level 8 painful!! Despite following all instructions and taking Miralax, BMs were the worst. After that, life resumed and healing was fast. Bed rest for 2 weeks and back to normal duties within 6 weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Hawkins to anyone going through a similar journey. And if you happen to read this review, Dr. H., no, I still don't miss my "little friend" (uterus/fibroids). Not at all.
I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Hawkins and was referred to her by my gyn for a consult for a hysterectomy. I went for my first consult with her and was absolutely blown away by her staff and Dr. Hawkins thorough discussion and exam. She went through all of my medical records & discussed my ultrasound and did an exam and discussed ALL of my options! I was so impressed with everything.
Dr. Hawkins performed my surgery for a complicated hysterectomy. It had become an extremely urgent situation and I was desperate to find someone to help me. I had become discouraged by meeting with other doctors who didn't seem to want to listen. I had consulted with four other surgeons, from Nashville to Chattanooga to Dr. Nezhat in Atlanta. Just as I was about to give up hope, I found Dr. Hawkins. Finding her was truly a blessing from the universe. She immediately put me at ease with her kind and compassionate demeanor. She was an absolute professional throughout the entire process. She patiently listened to my concerns and answered every one of my questions. Her skill and knowledge are second to none. She accepts insurance, so you won't have to figure out some way to pay Dr. Nezhat 40 thousand dollars. Her assistant, Veronica, is the sweetest person and is very knowledgeable and patient as well. It was a relief knowing I was working with professionals who actually seemed to care. Throughout every phase of this process, I can't fully describe how comforting it was to see Dr. Hawkins' kind, smiling face. She is just amazing and I will forever be grateful to her for saving my life.
THE best doc for uterine fibroids & endometriosis Dr. Hawkins is a life saver, literally!I recommend her everyday to any woman I meet with fibroids &pelvic pain (endometriosis).1. She’s a brilliant expert without a God-complex that’s very professional, and yet extremely patient and caring. 2. She listens to, genuinely cares for, and prioritizes you and your goals & well-being 3. Despite having blessed hands as a surgeon, she doesn’t push surgery. She explains all of your options4. She’s up to date on the latest research, while other docs rely on research from 20 years ago. 5. She’s thorough. She studies your health history like your life depends on it 6. She’s constantly innovating in her medical practice 7. She’s a health educator with her patients. So many docs just want you to trust them. She earns your trust by raising your level of knowledge about your body & options. 8. She really listens and learns about you. Three years later, and I still highly recommend her. My Google review goes in depth more about my surgery.
I had a very odd experience with Dr. Davis which was my first visit with her. I was scheduled for an annual and I arrived early to ensure my paperwork was in order and my new insurance information was taken. I was taken to the room and of course I had to change into the appropriate garments to be examined. I ended up waiting nearly 40 minutes to be seen and as many people know, Dr. offices can be quite cold especially when you have a thin sheet that you are wearing. Typically when I have to wait long like this when the Dr. arrives they apologize for the wait time (as the Dr. The office was not busy that morning). I do understand many things can happen that can lead to an appointment running behind. As soon as Dr. Davis entered the room, her demeanor and her body language gave that she did not want to be there and she seemed visibly upset about something. Her tone was very dry and I initially assumed maybe she had a bad experience with a patient prior to seeing me that led to this. It was my first visit with her and I had not been to the GYN in years. The appointment was very rushed and I just got the feeling that she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I am 40 so I did express some concerns regarding my hormonal balance and what not. She was very dismissive and pretty much chalked it up to anxiety and advised that I go to therapy. I'm guessing she saw something in my medical chart that stated my anxiety issues (which is why I am reluctant to share with Doctors at times) and decided to go with that. When I initially saw Dr. Johnson years ago she did blood work as well and took urine and called me in for a follow-up consultation. Dr. Davis was not interested in doing any of that and I have health insurance and had no issue with paying for these tests. After my pap smear she told me my results would be emailed to me. Typically with my primary care doctor, when doing lab and any tests are ran, he will shoot me a quick email when my results arrive to pretty much summarize everything. I am not a Dr. and I did not attend medical school so certain labs the way they are reported may not make sense to me. When my pap smear results came back I found myself googling online to understand. Overall it just wasn't a pleasant experience and I was a bit taken aback. It reminded me of back when prior to my surgery Doctors were being dismissive about my Fibroids and pain and I had to go to quite a few until I was even given the option of surgery. I love me some Dr. Hawkins as she was a Godsend for me and my surgery and to this day my mother and I talk about how genius she was when it came to my surgery as well as how pleasant and professional she was. I gave it three stars and not one because I will always be grateful to Dr. Hawkins and the office was immaculate and beautiful. The nurse who did my intake was very warm, kind, and professional as well (I believe her name was Sandy).
My experience with Dr. Hawkins has been superb. Her professionalism, compassion for the craft and willingness to help her patients make the right decision for their health. I thank God for dropping her in my spirit. She's truly one of a kind. If you're looking for a doctor/surgeon that cares and loves what they do, look no more. Dr. Soyini Hawkins is the BEST. Thank you for getting me on the right track to a healthier life. I'm forever grateful.
Dr. Hawkins is a highly trained surgeon! She successfully performed a challenging hysterectomy and massive fibroid removal surgery for me. Her exceptional skills as a surgeon are paired with her incredible bedside manner! She was wonderful at explaining the procedure and answering questions! Her staff and her practice are top notch! Booking an appointment takes time and not a fan of portal (more user friendly then most) But all phone calls and emails were responded to quickly and the nurse practitioner I saw for a minor issue my body was having post surgery was excellent. Dr Hawkins and her staff are the BEST around and it was the best medical decision I have ever made!
Wow, where do I begin? I am exactly 6 weeks post -op and I feel Greatttt! I waited to write my review because I wanted to speak from full experience and recovery. My first consult was 7 months ago where Dr. Hawkins informed me about where I stand with having a robotic laparoscopic myomectomy procedure. She was compassionate, supportive, confidant and thorough. I was at peace that Dr.Hawkins would get me out alive with no complications. It’s the peace most of us search for, when faced with such adversities. Along the way, I looked into other options but NONE really seemed right for me. I even let Dr.Hawkins in on what I had been considering outside of surgery with her, and she NEVER once judged me or left me to even answer questions without her professional advice/opinion based on my circumstances. There was no pressure at all to move forward with her services and that’s also, what I appreciated. I eventually, contacted Dr.Hawkins to get scheduled 6 months later and was immediately advised of what to expect step by step leading up to my 6 week post op appointment. I had no questions because they were all answered. I felt well prepared physically, and mentally. Dr.Hawkins was able to remove 17 fibroids and 1 unknown cyst with no complications. My healing process has been AMAZING! I’m actually embarrassed at the amount of fear, I let consume me. I followed everything that was advised within the manual provided by Dr.Hawkins down to a T. Everyday, I felt stronger and it got easier. My family was overjoyed by my progress. Let’s not forget about the practically INVISIBLE 4 incisions that healed beautifully!!! Dr.Hawkins you are more than a surgeon. You’re a true angel. You do your work, as if God is watching you personally each and everyday and that sets you apart from the rest!!! I’m honestly trying to figure out how she can deliver my future babies! 😆 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” ( Colossians 3:23-24 NIV) “Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.” (Ephesians 6:6 NIV) I just can’t thank you enough. God bless your business!!!!
Let me start by saying Dr Soyini Hawkins is heaven sent! She has been thru what we have so she treat you like a “human”. She cares for all her patients and she not in it for the money you can tell she has a passion for helping woman. I’m young 34 yrs old and everyone kept saying take out my uterus. I came to her and she said the complete opposite. I had a very large fibroid and a cyst on my ovaries. Dr Hawkins performed an open myomectomy and removed them effortlessly. Her bedside manner is the best i ever had in my life! I will forever pray for her and her practice she changed my life! My surgery was performed at Northside and that staff took great care of me as well! Please dont hesitate on choosing her! This is my honest and from the heart review my only regret is not finding her sooner! ♥️ Update im 6 months pregnant with a baby boy! Thanks so much for taking good care of me ! 💙
This review is long overdue, but Dr. Hawkins is a godsend! If you have endometriosis or fibroids, you’ve probably experienced the frustration of having your symptoms dismissed and minimized, but working with Dr. Hawkins is a breath of fresh air. She listens attentively and is incredibly helpful in outlining different treatments and helping you choose the best option for your specific situation. I suspected that I had endometriosis, but Dr. Hawkins was the first doctor to see that I also had signs of adenomyosis. Sure enough, I had both. Thanks to her diagnostic skill, I was able to choose the best surgical option for my condition, and it absolutely changed my life. It was my first surgery and a major one at that, but Dr. Hawkins and her staff were detailed, patient, and supportive through every step of the process. It’s been five years now since my surgery, and I’m happy to say the debilitating pain I was living with is a thing of the past. So many women are struggling with pelvic pain and related issues, and it makes my heart happy to know Dr. Hawkins is out there doing such amazing work. I recommend her to everyone I can!
