New to the area and made an appointment for my 4 year old twins wellness as my neighborhood referred her and the reviews I looked at. My twins are fully vaccinated. Their next vaccines were recommended by the AAP for 46 years. I wanted to wait until they were 5. When I told the receptionist this Dr. Scanlon herself then came out to the lobby to state she would not see them if I did not get the vaccines that day not even concerned about the reasons why. She stated she was confronting people in the lobby rather than having them back in a room as then she would charge them for a visit. She stated the PreK programs required age 4. When questioned if that was really true she finally said it was just their policy. I initially walked out but then came back as I do have them enrolled in PreK and was now afraid I would have to do this anyway. The rest of the appointment did not go very well. It was uncomfortable. My daughter did not do well with the injections as I warned them about. This was after I promised her that the appointment today not going to hurt you. I later called Georgia PreK and questioned this. They could care less what age you get them at. In fact I could not vaccinate at all and just sign a waiver. I called other other PreKs as well. Same story. I then called to talk to the office manager. They first told me she was at lunch. The second time they told me she was on the phone and asked me for name and number and what this was pertaining to. They told me her name that was not the actual office manager. I called Southeast who gave me the name and number of the actual office manager I was able to finally talk to but told me she had not been off work that day. I was treated like I was just coming there to get the required forms to fill out for PreK and that I would not likely not bring back my children at age 5. Not sure why I brought my records showing completely otherwise. She lifted up their shirts and looked at their backs. It appeared she was looking for abuse. If she was really concerned she would have looked at the back of my daughters leg who has an insect bit that keeps getting bigger and the big canker sore in her mouth. Yes I look like a bit disheveled right now but it is because I put every ounce of me into them and I dont have one of those villages. I have been a nurse for 20 years recently with a large insurance company currently off work until they start PreK. Even if I was a parent not vaccinating their children these policies will not help. They are missing an opportunity to educate and help parents who already are having a hard time processing misinformation from the internet and media. They are so focused on vaccines they are missing everything else about taking care of children and families. This was the last thing I needed that day any day. Priorities and society have changed compassion is just gone.

Worst personal experience. I moved to the area from Ohio and chose Dr. Jami Scanlon based on a neighborhood referral. I have twins that just turned 4. The are up to date on vaccines since birth. The boosters are recommended by the CDC and AAP for 46 years of age. For various reasons I wanted to not do this at 4 years instead 5. Since I was paying out of pocket and didnt want to pay for vaccines until I spoke with her the receptionist went back and sent Dr. Scanlon herself out to the lobby to tell me she wont be seeing my twins if I did not get the vaccines that day. She lied and said PreKs required at age 4. I challenged this and she finally said it was just their policy. I ended up staying and getting the vaccines that day coerced into believing PreK required this. I verified this with the PreK they were enrolled in along with others. This is wrong on so many levels. The vaccines did not go well for one of my twins. As a nurse for 20 years I have witnessed MDs not giving patients all of their options not explaining things and leading them to make poor heath care decision based on their personal strong opinions. This was the first time it happened to me. Every day this gets worse. A parent should be able to have an MD explain the vaccines recognize the guidelines give a time frame and be able to choose what age is the best age for their child. Period. They could care less about anything else other than vaccines. Now wonder why people are hesitant to get them.

Dr. Scanlon is the around She takes her time with the children and loves what she does. My kids are always happy to go see her. Weve been seeing her for over 9 years. I refuse to see anyone else. We love Dr. Scanlon

Dr. Scanlon Is one of a kind. My wife and I give her 5 stars because thats all that they have to give.She takes time with our children to treat their needs and listens to our the parents concerns. I would recommend her to everyone who needs a great pediatric doctor.

Truly an outstanding Doctor and human being She took the time to get to know our family and was particularly intuitive and skilled with respect to our 2 autistic children. Dr. Scanlon made us feel comfortable and welcome. She provided a level of care that far exceeded my expectations. Truly grateful to have found her.

We’re new in town and after some diligent searching based on patient reviews we chose Dr. Scanlon as our pediatrician. Not only is she warm friendly and caring but she took the time to get to know our family and interacted with our 2 autistic boys in such a heartwarming way that made me especially feel that we chose the right Doctor.

My children have been patients here since we moved to the area in 2016. We have seen both Dr. Scanlon and Dr. Hendricks. They are both amazing. They take their time in appointments and always listen to both the parent and child. I love that they talk to my kids and not just me. There must be some scheduling magic because we always get all the time we need in an appointment but never have to wait past our appointment time. All of the staff from the front desk to nurses are friendly and welcoming.

Easy and fast check in and love the doctors and others in office

Dr. Scanlon is wonderful and has taken great care of my Son. Highly recommend her to others.
