I Love Dr Collins He is The Absolute Best But It's Sad That When Dr Virtue Came The Ladies That Makes Appointment's Switched us To Dr Virtue Without Us Wanting Them To...Me & My Spouse along With My Other Family That Goes There and When We Ask If We Can Switch Back To Doctor Collins They Always Tell Us No. I Hope That Doctor Collins Sees This Or Someone That Would Fix This Problem See's This !!!!!!!!!!!
I have been with Dr. Collins for over ten years and love him dearly. He literally saved my life in 2011 when I went to him for approval for hip surgery and he discovered heart disease. His love of people is apparent in all his transactions. I also like his nurse practitioner and Dr. Virtue.
I could not ask for a better doctor! I love that Dr. Collins was a pharmacist before he went to med school and knows possible drug interactions as well as what drugs work best for any condition. He is not only knowledgeable, but very caring and compassionate. He always takes time to find out how I am really doing, and discusses my health with me rather than just telling me what to do. He is THE BEST!
I have been a patient with Dr. Collins for about 20 years and have been very happy with him the entire time. I also like his nurse practitioner, Kim, and his partner, Dr. Virtue. In 2011, I was going to have hip surgery when the orthopedic doctor told me to go back to my primary care service and get a clearance for the surgery. Dr. Collins took an EKG and blood work and called me back within hours. I had had a heart attack without knowing it. He put me on the track for heart procedures, and I ended up having a quadruple bypass.
One of the best doctor's experiences I have ever had. Dr. Collins was prompt, courteous, accurate, and his bedside manner was beyond perfect! Blessed to have him as my doctor.
Very disappointed that your office could not provide an order for my Mother in a timely manner. She is a patient at Winthrop West. She provided a urine sample to check for a UTI. The sample was no good by the time the order was sent and there was no nurse available to collect another sample. Your office then suggested to my 88 year old Dad that it would be quicker for me to take my 87 year old Mother who uses a walker to Urgent Care where we have been for the last hour and not seen a doctor yet.
Hes a Quack Tried to get a wheelchair said he only dealt with one Company that went out of business Charged me a bogus 50.00 dollars 2 years after i stopped seeing him Be smart stay away
As determined by many voters who read the Rome News Tribune, Dr. James Collins is the best Family Practice Physician in town. Rather than list his many attributes, I will just say that he saved my life. I had very vague symptoms that I and others were brushing off. He persisted and I ended up with three stents in my heart. I am very sure that it was only a matter of time before I had a heart attack. Thanks to Dr. Collins, I am alive. I'm sure there are many other stories like mine, but people typically only take the time to write when they are unhappy - not when they are satistifed.
This doctor discovered a problem which saved my life. Without his careful and intelligent care, I would be dead. I cannot say enough good things. I can recommend him without hesitation.
Best doctor in Rome by far. Been seeing him for 15 years. Is very friendly and very knowledgable.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
